INJURIES

Not spotted Wednesday Jones (ankle) isn't participating in the early portion of Wednesday's practice, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.
Impact The Buccaneers have yet to disclose the results of the recent MRI that Jones underwent after he suffered the ankle injury in the team's Week 17 win over the Jets. Meanwhile, Ke'Shawn Vaughn (ribs) was spotted on the practice field Wednesday, but veteran Le'Veon Bell may be the only fully healthy running back currently on Tampa Bay's roster.

Impact Jones sustained his ankle injury in the third quarter of Sunday's win over the Jets and was unable to return to the field. If Jones is unable to play in Sunday's Week 18 matchup against Carolina, Ke'Shawn Vaughn (ribs) and Le'Veon Bell could see additional work.

Picks up ankle injury Jones exited Sunday's game against the Jets with an ankle injury, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.
Impact Jones had 10 carries for 26 yards and caught his lone target for one yards before suffering the injury during the third quarter. Ke'Shawn Vaughn and Le'Veon Bell should split the backfield work for the Bucs while Jones is sidelined.

Solid in starting opportunity Jones rushed 20 times for 65 yards and a touchdown and brought in two of three targets for 16 yards in the Buccaneers' 32-6 win over the Panthers on Sunday.
Impact Stepping in for Leonard Fournette (IR-hamstring), Jones shouldered the bulk of the workload for the Buccaneers backfield and acquitted himself reasonably well. The fourth-year back notched his third touchdown in the last six games with a seven-yard scoring scamper late in the third quarter as well, burnishing his outlook ahead of a favorable Week 17 road matchup against a suspect Jets run defense.

Impact Ke'Shawn Vaughn, Le'Veon Bell and practice-squad member Kenjon Barner could also push for reps down the stretch, particularly on passing downs, but Jones should be locked in as Tampa Bay's lead option on the ground sans Fournette. Though ball-security issues and mental mistakes have been consistent themes in Jones' career, the 24-year-old has been a productive ball carrier, averaging 4.5 yards per tote over 458 rushing attempts. He'll likely continue to pick up solid chunks of yardage while running behind three Pro Bowl linemen, and Tom Brady's proclivity for checking down to running backs could allow Jones to collect at least a few targets per game even if he's subbed out on more obvious passing downs.

Slated to serve as No. 1 back Jones is in line to serve as the Buccaneers' starting running back since Leonard Fournette (hamstring) is expected to miss time, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site report...
Impact Jones took over for the injured Fournette in the second half of Sunday's loss to the Saints and rushed eight times for 63 yards while securing both of his targets for eight yards. Although the 24-year-old had seen minimal work across the last few weeks, he's now in line to serve as the team's top running back, while Ke'Shawn Vaughn will likely be available in a complementary role.
DECEMBER 20, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Takes over rushing duties Jones rushed eight times for 63 yards and caught both of his targets for eight yards in Sunday's 9-0 loss to the Saints.
Impact Leonard Fournette (hamstring) went down on Tampa Bay's first drive of the second half, leaving Jones to handle most of the rushing duties for the remainder of the contest. The severity of the former's injury is unclear at the moment, but we should get some clarity on that front in the coming days. Jones performed well in a pinch, as he was seemingly the only Tampa Bay offensive player that the Saints did not have an answer for (7.9 yards per carry). If Fournette is unable to suit up against the Panthers next Sunday, then Jones figures to take over starting duties with Ke'Shawn Vaughn (3-19-0 on Sunday) taking over the backup role.

Limited to three carries Jones rushed three times for eight yards in the Buccaneers' 33-27 overtime win over the Bills on Sunday.
Impact The backup running back once again held a minimal role in comparison to Leonard Fournette, with Jones logging just eight snaps from scrimmage overall. With just four carries over the last two games, Jones heads into a Week 15 Sunday night battle against the Saints with little momentum, although it's at least worth noting he's less than a month removed from having scored rushing touchdowns in back-to-back contests Weeks 11 and 12.
DECEMBER 14, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Sidesteps injury report Jones (illness) wasn't listed on the Buccaneers' injury report Wednesday.
Impact Jones departed this past Sunday's win in Atlanta due to an illness, but it hasn't followed him into Week 14 prep. When this weekend's matchup with the Bills rolls around, he'll be poised for his usual secondary role behind starter Leonard Fournette, which has amounted to 5.4 touches for 25.4 yards from scrimmage per game and three rushing scores through 12 contests.
DECEMBER 8, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Battling illness Jones exited Sunday's game against the Falcons due to an illness, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Impact Jones had one carry for two yards and caught his lone target for zero yards during the first half before leaving due to the ailment. Giovani Bernard should step up as Tampa Bay's No. 2 tailback behind starter Leonard Fournette.
DECEMBER 5, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Another touchdown in win Jones rushed seven times for 37 yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers' 38-31 win over the Colts on Sunday.
Impact Jones was able to cash in on his second touchdown in as many games when he went in from one yard out late in the third quarter. The fourth-year back is clearly stuck behind Leonard Fournette in the backfield pecking order, but he seems to be embracing his complementary role without complaint and has at least registered on the fantasy radar with his pair of recent scores.

Finds end zone Jones rushed eight times for 33 yards and a touchdown in Monday night's 30-10 win over the Giants.
Impact Jones took a carry around the left side to score from six yards in the second quarter, marking his second end-zone trip of the campaign. With the Buccaneers never relinquishing the lead that play gave them, Jones was incorporated slightly more in the running game than usual, getting just two fewer carries than starter Leonard Fournette. Even though he was again efficient with his handoffs Monday, Jones' complementary, backup role limits his expected value ahead of Week 12's matchup versus the Colts.

Logs one snap in loss Jones did not record a touch on his one snap from scrimmage during Sunday's 29-19 loss to Washington, but head coach Bruce Arians stated after the game his lack of opportunity was...
Impact The Buccaneers ran just 48 plays during the upset, and if Arians is to be taken at his word, that alone explains Jones' almost complete absence from the offense. However, even with more conventional game scripts, the fourth-year back hasn't logged more than 13 snaps from scrimmage since Week 2, so his prospects remain dim heading into a Week 11 matchup versus the Giants.
NOVEMBER 16, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Four touches in divisional loss Jones rushed three times for 13 yards and brought in his only target for six yards in the Buccaneers' 36-27 loss to the Saints on Sunday.
Impact A week after logging 10 carries in a blowout win over the Bears, Jones was back down to a relatively meager role Sunday, although the running game as a whole took a backseat against the Saints. Jones' clear backup role has no ambiguity attached, however, and he figures to continue serving as a seldom-used understudy to Leonard Fournette when the Buccaneers return from a Week 9 bye to face Washington.
NOVEMBER 1, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Busier than usual in Week 7 win Jones rushed 10 times for 63 yards in the Buccaneers' 38-3 win over the Bears on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.
Impact Jones logged just five fewer carries than backfield mate Leonard Fournette, but when factoring in that even the seldom-used Ke'Shawn Vaughn got five totes himself, it becomes clear the extra workload was a product of game script. The Buccaneers had a 35-3 lead by halftime, so the ground attack took center stage during the second half and led to Jones seeing his heaviest rushing workload of the season by far. That led to a season-high yardage tally as well, but Jones could well be back to serving as the clear backup to Fournette in a Week 8 road clash against the Saints.
OCTOBER 25, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Saddled with backup duties Jones rushed five times for 20 yards and secured his only target for nine yards in the Buccaneers' 28-22 win over the Eagles on Thursday night.
Impact For the third straight contest, Jones worked as a clear understudy to lead back Leonard Fournette, who garnered 28 total touches to Jones' six. The fourth-year back saw just 13 snaps from scrimmage, his fourth consecutive game under 15 plays. At this point, it appears it will take an injury to Fournette for Jones to have any fantasy relevance beyond the deepest of formats.
