Impact Spillane suffered the finger injury during training camp, but he was always likely to be cleared for Week 1. Now healthy, the 24-year-old is expected to manage a depth linebacker role for 2020, with most of his work coming on special teams.

Suffers injury Saturday Spillane exited Saturday's practice with a finger injury, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official website reports.

Impact Spillane may miss some practice time, but this injury isn't a major concern for his Week 1 availability at this time. The 24-year-old linebacker is expected to work in a reserve role behind Devin Bush and Vince Williams, and most of his contributions will come on special teams.
