Impact Spillane landed on the COVID-19 list last week but has since cleared the health and safety protocols. He's also been dealing with a knee injury, and it remains to be seen if he'll be available to suit up Thursday against the Vikings.

Impact Spillane's absence will be a blow to the Steelers' linebacker unit. Marcus Allen or Ulysees Gilbert will likely pick up the few snaps that Spillane will miss.

Impact Spillane suffered an ankle injury in Monday's win over the Bears, and coach Mike Tomlin stated the injury isn't considered serious. After recording a full practice Wednesday, Spillane should be able to suit up Sunday against the Lions. If the linebacker suffers any setbacks before Week 10, expect Buddy Johnson to see an increased role behind Joe Schobert.
