Signs new contract with Steelers The Steelers signed Bussey to a reserve/future contract Tuesday, Teresa Varley of the team's official website reports.

Impact The wide receiver was cut from the Steelers' practice squad Jan. 7, but will now return to the team for 2022 season. Bussey missed a significant portion of the 2021 campaign while on injured reserve with an undisclosed injury and ultimately failed to crack the active roster for the year's conclusion.

Impact Bussey was placed on the practice squad injured list in early September. Although the nature of his injury wasn't revealed, he'll now be able to return to the field.

Impact Bussey was unable to land a 53-man roster spot among the Steelers' crowded group of receivers, but he'll attempt to make an impact with the practice squad. The 23-year-old signed with Pittsburgh as an undrafted free agent in early May after starting eight games for Hawaii in 2020.
