Solid rookie season Bateman finished the season with 46 catches for 515 yards and a touchdown on 68 targets in 12 games.
Impact The rookie first-rounder started the season on injured reserve due to a core-muscle injury that required surgery and didn't debut until Week 6 against the Chargers. From there, Bateman ranked third in target share (15.7 percent) on the team, behind only Marquise Brown and Mark Andrews. He had one 100-yard performance against Cleveland in Week 14 and caught his lone touchdown of the season two weeks later against Cincinnati. It's difficult to put a definitive grade on Bateman's rookie season due to the missed time coupled with Lamar Jackson's absence down the stretch. He had some promising peripheral metrics, such as a 67.6 percent catch rate and a yards per route run that ranked in the 71st percentile among receivers. With a healthy offseason and a full-strength Lamar Jackson behind center, Bateman is primed for a breakout in Year 2.

Impact Bateman's 10 targets led the Ravens, ahead of Marquise Brown's eight targets. Neither wideout was able to get much going, though Bateman's box score outdid Brown's (three receptions for 28 yards). Quarterback Tyler Huntley can't strike downfield or the sidelines as well as Lamar Jackson (ankle), so in that sense Bateman and Brown were at a disadvantage to tight end Mark Andrews in the middle of the field. It's not clear whether Jackson might be able to play against the Steelers in Week 18.
