Impact After matching his previous career-high in receiving yards in Week 2, Cephus topped that mark Sunday while looking like Detroit's most competent wide receiver in the absence of Tyrell Williams (concussion). He could have had a bigger day, but Jared Goff wasn't able to find him open on at least two occasions. With Williams on the shelf for at least one more game, Cephus' emergence could continue in Week 5 against the Vikings.

Impact Cephus has served as the primary replacement for Williams on the perimeter after the latter entered the concussion protocol upon taking a helmet-to-helmet hit from the 49ers' Jaquiski Tartt in the Lions' Week 1 loss. After producing a 3-12-1 line on six targets in the season opener, Cephus found the end zone again in the Week 2 loss to the Packers while hauling in four of seven targets for 63 yards. Tight end T.J. Hockenson still looks like the Lions' top priority in the passing game, but Cephus might be the most fantasy-friendly option in a Detroit receiving corps that may have the poorest collection of talent in the NFL. With Williams out of the picture through at least the Lions' Oct. 17 game against Cincinnati, Cephus should at the very least benefit from heavy snap shares over the next three contests, even if his weekly target volume isn't entirely bankable.

Impact Cephus started the evening with an impressive 46-yard gain on third down to extend Detroit's opening drive, which he actually capped with a wide-open, five-yard touchdown thanks to a defensive miscommunication later on. Although he only had a couple grabs afterward, Cephus trailed only tight end T.J. Hockenson in each major receiving category for the Lions, scoring in consecutive games to begin the season to boot. Whether teammate Tyrell Williams (concussion) returns for Week 3's matchup versus the Ravens or not, Cephus is building good chemistry with new quarterback Jared Goff through their first couple games together.

Impact While it's not ideal to average less than two yards per target, Cephus was still one of the bright spots of the Lions offense Sunday. Not only did he make a tough catch on the sideline on a less-than-perfect pass than Jared Goff, Cephus also boxed out a defender for a short touchdown on the goal line before hauling in a two-point conversion at the very edge of the end zone in the fourth quarter. However, it should be noted that the Wisconsin product might not have received as many opportunities if Tyrell Williams (undisclosed) didn't leave the game in the third quarter, as Cephus ultimately finished fifth in snaps among Detroit wideouts behind Williams, Kalif Raymond, Trinity Benson and Amon-Ra St. Brown. Even if Williams misses time, Cephus seems like a touchdown-dependent fantasy option entering Week 2.

Impact Cephus looked healthy after missing the preseason opener with a head injury. While he's no higher than No. 5 on the depth chart now that Amon-Ra St. Brown and Kalif Raymond seem established under Detroit's top duo of Tyrell Williams and Breshad Perriman, Cephus at least appears to be in no danger of losing his roster spot considering he only remained in Saturday's game as long as Perriman and St. Brown did (Williams and Raymond weren't active). As such, it seems unlikely that the Wisconsin product will be asked to suit up for Detroit's preseason finale next Friday against Indianapolis as the team prepares for Week 1 of the regular season.

In his return, Cephus caught a touchdown during a 7-on-7 drill in the red zone and will look to make an impression in a receiving corps that's currently down Breshad Perriman (hip) and Kalif Raymond (undisclosed).
