Cleared to practice again The Colts designated Nelson (ankle) to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Mike Chappell of Fox 59 News Indianapolis reports.

Impact Nelson has been sidelined since Week 3, when he suffered a right high-ankle sprain. After sitting out the requisite three games upon landing on IR, the All-Pro guard will be eligible to play Sunday in San Francisco, though it's unclear if the Colts plan to immediately activate him. Indianapolis will have 21 days to evaluate Nelson and determine whether he's fit to return to the 53-man roster.
