Three catches in blowout loss Williams caught three of five targets for 60 yards in Sunday's 45-17 loss to Tampa Bay.
Impact Williams played a larger role with DeVante Parker (hamstring) joining Will Fuller (finger) on the sidelines. In addition to his three catches, Williams drew a pass interference penalty on Richard Sherman in the end zone, setting up Myles Gaskin's second receiving touchdown of the game. He'll face the Jaguars in London in Week 6.

More opportunities could arrive Williams, who was a healthy scratch Week 4, could be destined for an increased role on offense after Will Fuller (finger) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, Barry Jackson of...
Impact Williams doesn't boast much utility on special teams, so it was difficult for the Dolphins to justify making him active for the Week 4 loss to the Colts. The roster now has a different context, however, with Will Fuller (finger) landing on IR and with Jakeem Grant having been traded to the Bears. With Albert Wilson having also been ineffective through four weeks, Williams could have a clear path not only to being active versus Tampa Bay on Sunday, potentially slotting in as th No. 3 or 4 receiver.

Inactive Sunday Williams is inactive for Sunday's game against the Colts.
Impact With Williams scratched again in Week 4, DeVante Parker, Jaylen Waddle and Will Fuller will continue to head Miami's WR corps versus Indy, with Albert Wilson also on hand after being inactive in Week 3.

Miami Dolphins' Preston Williams, Noah Igbinoghene inactive vs. Indianapolis Colts Dolphins wide receiver Preston Williams is inactive for the team’s Week 4 home game against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
OCTOBER 3, 2021 • MIAMIHERALD.COM
Little doing in return to action Williams secured one of three targets for two yards during Sunday's 35-0 loss to the Bills.
Impact Williams didn't have many opportunities to make a splash Sunday, as Jacoby Brissett struggled mightily in relief of Tua Tagovailoa (ribs) while facing down Buffalo's stout defense. Per David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel, Williams feels completely healthy after making his 2021 season debut. The Dolphins could opt to ramp up Williams' involvement as the season progresses, and he only handled 30 percent of offensive snaps versus the Bills, but he'll be even harder pressed for opportunities once Will Fuller makes his Miami debut.

SEPTEMBER 19, 2021 • MIAMIHERALD.COM
Cleared for 2021 debut Williams (foot) is active for Sunday's game against the Bills.
Impact Williams fit a full practice between limited showings Wednesday and Friday, and it looks like that'll be enough for him to gain clearance for his 2021 debut. Even though Will Fuller (personal) is absent for a second straight game, Williams won't necessarily step into a high-volume role outside opposite No. 1 wideout DeVante Parker. Rookie first-round pick Jaylen Waddle and veteran Albert Wilson both played more than 40 percent of the Dolphins' offensive snaps Week 1, and it's possible Williams could be eased into the mix as part of a rotation with Parker and one of Waddle and Wilson in three-receiver sets.
SEPTEMBER 19, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Questionable for Week 2 Williams (foot/knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Bills after logging a limited practice Friday, Daniel Oyefusi of The Miami Herald reports.
Impact Williams sat out Week 1 due to the foot injury but seemed to be out of the woods after practicing fully Thursday. Unfortunately, he took a step back with a limited practice Friday and is now dealing with a knee injury in addition to the foot issue. With fellow wide receiver Will Fuller (personal) already ruled out, DeVante Parker and rookie Jaylen Waddle should once again lead the Dolphins' receiving corps, with Albert Wilson and Jakeem Grant in line for expanded roles in the event Williams sits.
SEPTEMBER 17, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Looks ready for Week 2 Williams (foot) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
Impact After a trio of limited practices last week, Williams sat out the Dolphins' season-opening win over the Patriots while he continued to recover from the foot surgery he underwent last November. He was limited again to kick off Week 2 prep, but his ability to log a full session Thursday puts him on track to make his 2021 debut Sunday against Buffalo. Though Williams had been a starter for Miami prior to sustaining his season-ending injury in 2020, he'll likely be relegated to a depth role after the Dolphins added free-agent pickup Will Fuller and first-round draft pick Jaylen Waddle to their receiving corps this offseason.
SEPTEMBER 16, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Limited at practice Williams (foot) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports.
Impact Williams was limited in practice all of last week before sitting out Miami's season-opening win over New England. Even if he suits up Sunday against the Bills, he would presumably be behind DeVante Parker, Jaylen Waddle and Will Fuller in the pecking order at receiver.
SEPTEMBER 15, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Sitting out Week 1 Williams (foot) is inactive for Sunday's Week 1 matchup against the Patriots.
Impact Williams managed to practice in limited fashion all week but was reportedly trending toward sitting out, and that has now proven to be the case. The speedy 24-year-old is still likely working his way back to full health after the foot surgery that cut short his 2020 campaign, and Sunday, his absence could lead to some additional snaps for Albert Wilson behind the top wideout trio of DeVante Parker, Jaylen Waddle and Jakeem Grant.
SEPTEMBER 12, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
May end up sitting Week 1 Williams (foot) remains listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots, but he's not expected to be active for the contest, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Impact The third-year wideout is still working back from the foot surgery that cut his 2020 campaign short, and he doesn't seem to have demonstrated enough progress in practice this week for the Dolphins to sign off on him playing Week 1. The Dolphins will still likely wait and see how Williams fares in a pregame workout before an official decision on his status is announced around 2:55 p.m. ET, when Miami is expected to release its inactive list. Assuming Williams sits along with Will Fuller -- who is serving the final game of the suspension he received as a member of the Texans in 2020 -- the Dolphins will likely have a combination of Jaylen Waddle, Jakeem Grant and Albert Wilson rotate alongside DeVante Parker in three-receiver sets.
SEPTEMBER 12, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Questionable versus Pats Williams (foot) is questionable for Sunday's season opener against the Patriots, Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald reports.
Impact Williams' recovery from the foot surgery that cut his 2020 season short is still ongoing. If he's able to suit up, Williams -- who practiced in a limited fashion all week -- could see some extra opportunities due to the absence of Will Fuller, who's suspended for Week 1.
SEPTEMBER 10, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Limited to start week Williams (foot) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Working his way back from last year's season-ending foot surgery, Williams was removed from the PUP list Aug. 19 and played in a preseason game Aug. 29. The latter occurrence might seem to suggest he'll play Week 1, but it'll still be worth monitoring practice reports after such a lengthy rehab from surgery. Will Fuller (suspension) isn't eligible to play this week, while DeVante Parker, Jaylen Waddle, Jakeem Grant and Albert Wilson all are healthy.
