Set loose by Seattle The Seahawks released Walker on Tuesday, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Walker never seemed like a true candidate to beat out Sam Howell for the No. 2 role behind Geno Smith, but he could resurface on Seattle's practice squad as the team's emergency third quarterback. The veteran signal-caller appeared in six games for the Browns last season.

Slated to fill in for Watson Walker is in line to take over as the Browns' starting QB, with Deshaun Watson done for the season due to a shoulder injury, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Impact Per Rapoport, Walker will have surgery to repair his shoulder issue and is headed to IR. As a result, Walker is on track to move into a starting role going forward, with Dorian Thompson-Robinson slated to serve as his backup. With that in mind, Walker represents a fantasy option for those who roster Watson or are otherwise in need of signal-caller depth heading into Week 11 action.

Three turnovers doom Browns Walker completed 15 of 31 passes for 248 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Sunday's loss to Seattle. He added six rushes for 27 yards and also lost a fumble.

Impact Walker dug the Browns an early hole after he fumbled midway through the first quarter to set up Seattle's second touchdown of the day. He also threw an interception just before the two-minute warning in the final quarter as Cleveland was trying to run out the clock with the lead. In between those miscues, he showed some promise by averaging eight yards per attempt while connecting with both Amari Cooper and David Njoku regularly to pick up chunk yardage. Walker is likely to remain the starter so long as Deshaun Watson (shoulder), who currently has an unclear timeline to return, is sidelined.
