Nick Westbrook-Ikhine - NFL News, Rumors, & Updates

Returns to practice squad Westbrook-Ikhine reverted to the Colts' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.

Impact Westbrook-Ikhine was elevated to the active roster for the third time this season ahead of Sunday's 34-22 loss to the Steelers. The wide receiver played seven snaps on offense, which was tied for fourth at his position with Deion Burks behind Josh Downs (60), Laquon Treadwell (57) and Keenan Allen (32). Westbrook-Ikhine failed to reel in his only target in the contest, and he will now have to be officially signed to the active roster in order to appear in another contest with Indianapolis this season.

Promoted to active roster The Colts elevated Westbrook-Ikhine from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday.

Impact It's the third and final time that the Colts can elevate Westbrook-Ikhine from the practice squad this season, and they would have to sign the veteran wide receiver to the active roster if they want him to suit up beyond Week 5. Westbrook-Ikhine gives the Colts additional depth at wide receiver, as both Darius Slayton (knee) and Ashton Dulin (hamstring) have been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Steelers, while Keenan Allen (groin) is listed as questionable.

Back with practice squad Westbrook-Ikhine reverted to the practice squad with Indianapolis on Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.

Impact Westbrook-Ikhine was elevated to the active roster ahead of Sunday's 30-13 win over the Commanders. The wide receiver failed to record any stats while playing 11 snaps on offense, and he added one tackle on kick coverage while logging 13 snaps with the special-teams unit. With Keenan Allen (groin) not 100 percent, it's possible that Westbrook-Ikhine is elevated again for the team's Week 5 matchup with Pittsburgh.

Impact Westbrook-Ikhine played one snap on offense and 15 on special teams but didn't have any output in the box score. The 29-year-old is eligible to be elevated two more times this season.

SEPTEMBER 29 • ROTOWIRE

Elevated for Week 3 The Colts elevated Westbrook-Ikhine from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday.

Impact Westbrook-Ikine is set to be an emergency option at wide receiver for the Colts' Week 3 game against the Texans. With Alec Pierce (heel) and D.J. Montgomery (abdomen) on IR, the 29-year-old will sit behind Deion Burks and Anthony Gould as they fill in for the injured Ashton Dulin (ankle).

Sticking around Indianapolis Westbrook-Ikhine was signed to the Colts' practice squad Monday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Impact Westbrook-Ikhine was let go by the team Sunday, but he'll remain in Indianapolis ahead of the regular season. With Alec Pierce (ankle) still uncertain for Week 1, it's possible that Westbrook-Ikhine will be elevated to the active roster for the team's matchup with the Ravens on Sept. 13.

AUGUST 31 • ROTOWIRE

Let go by Indianapolis Westbrook-Ikhine was released by the Colts on Sunday, JJ Stankevitz of the team's official website reports.

Impact Westbrook-Ikhine signed with the Colts in March, and he was reportedly in contention to earn the No. 3 wide receiver role behind Alec Pierce (ankle) and Josh Downs (calf) in 2026. Westbrook-Ikhine caught two of three targets for 36 yards over the team's three preseason contests, but he didn't show enough for Indianapolis to want to keep him as a member of its initial 53-man roster. The 29-year-old caught 11 of 20 targets for 89 yards over 15 regular-season games with the Dolphins in 2025, and he'll likely find another opportunity in the near future.

Pushing for WR3 role Westbrook-Ikhine's stock has risen in training camp as he battles for the Colts' WR3 role behind Alec Pierce (ankle) and Josh Downs (groin), James Boyd of The Athletic reports.

Impact The absences of Pierce and, most recently, Downs, has provided Westbrook-Ikhine with the opportunity to work in an expanded role in the first-team offense. So far, Westbrook-Ikhine has answered the call, and the veteran wide receiver has strengthened his case for the No. 3 job ahead of Ashton Dulin and Laquon Treadwell. Westbrook-Ikhine's best year came in 2024 with the Titans, when he caught 32 passes (on 60 targets) for 497 yards and nine touchdowns across 17 regular-season games.

Gets chance in Indianapolis The Eagles signed Westbrook-Ikhine to a contract on Wednesday.

Impact Westbrook-Ikhine struggled to solidify himself as a consistent option for the Dolphins last year, when he totaled just 11 catches for 89 yards without a score (20 targets) across 15 regular-season appearances. Now heading into his age-29 season, Westbrook-Ikhine looks positioned to compete with Ashton Dulin, Anthony Gould (foot) and Laquon Treadwell for rotational snaps behind top wideouts Alec Pierce and Josh Downs. Westbrook-Ikhine impressed with a 32-497-9 line back in 2024 with the Titans.

Dolphins Cleaning House: Tyreek Hill Released by Miami; Star WR Vows He'll Be Back

Done with Dolphins Miami is releasing Westbrook-Ikhine on Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Impact Westbrook-Ikhine logged an impressive 2024 campaign with the Titans, totaling a 32-497-9 line while playing all 17 regular-season games, but across 15 regular-season appearances with the Dolphins in 2025 he secured just 11 of 20 targets for 89 scoreless yards. The veteran wideout, who will turn 29 in March, will now look for a chance to compete for a depth role elsewhere in the league.

Invisible in Week 18 loss Westbrook-Ikhine was not targeted in Sunday's 38-10 loss to the Patriots.

Impact Westbrook-Ikhine joined forces with the Dolphins via a two-year, $6.5 million contract back in March, a deal that will go under the radar as one of the worst signings of the 2025 offseason. Across 15 regular-season appearances, Westbrook-Ikhine secured just 10 of 20 targets for 89 scoreless yards, a tremendous downturn after he had surpassed 350 receiving yards in four prior seasons with the Titans, including a 32-497-9 receiving line in 2024. The Dolphins have an 'out' in Westbrook-Ikhine's contract this offseason for only $1.6 million in dead cap.

Impact Westbrook-Ikhine finds himself as the odd receiver out yet again. The Dolphins will go with Jaylen Waddle, Malik Washington, Cedrick Wilson, Tahj Washington, and Theo Wease at wide receiver for Sunday's contest.

Healthy scratch Week 16 Westbrook-Ikhine (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Bengals.

Impact The 28-year-old has played in all 14 games for Miami this season, but he'll be a healthy scratch Sunday after going without a catch in the past four contests. Cedrick Wilson, Dee Eskridge and Theo Wease will compete for reps as Miami's No. 3 wideout with Westbrook-Ikhine inactive.

No catches vs. Steelers Westbrook-Ikhine failed to secure his only target during Monday's 28-15 loss to Pittsburgh.

Impact Westbrook-Ikhine has now gone four straight games without recording a target, with Monday's loss accounting for his only target in that span. He remains off the fantasy radar even heading into a favorable Week 17 home game against the Bengals.

DECEMBER 16, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

No targets for third straight game Westbrook-Ikhine was not targeted during Sunday's 34-10 win over the Jets.

Impact Westbrook-Ikhine has now gone three straight contests without recording any statistics on offense, though he did record two tackles (one solo) versus New York while supplying coverage against punt and kick returns. While Westbrook-Ikhine played 34 percent of offensive snaps against the Jets, his highest share since Week 10, he remains definitively off the fantasy radar heading into a Week 15 road matchup against the Steelers on Monday Night Football.

DECEMBER 8, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Goes untargeted again Westbrook-Ikhine was not targeted during Sunday's 21-17 win over the Saints.

Impact Westbrook-Ikhine has now gone back-to-back games without a target, having played 15 and 13 offensive snaps in those contests, respectively. With such minimal involvement in the passing game for Miami, he remains distinctly off the fantasy radar heading into a Week 14 matchup against the Jets. The return of tight end Darren Waller from IR further diminishes Westbrook-Ikhine's prospects.
