Ravens activate Bateman, Boykin, Madubuike and Houston

The Baltimore Ravens have activated receivers Rashod Bateman and Miles Boykin from injured reserve
SEPTEMBER 29, 2021 • Associated Press
Back at practice The Ravens designated Boykin (hamstring) to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Ryan Mink of the team's official site reports.
Impact Boykin and fellow wideout Rashod Bateman (groin) will both rejoin the Ravens for practice this week after the two missed the first three games with their respective injuries. Given that Boykin hasn't logged any on-field work since Aug. 2 due to the hamstring injury, he won't be a lock to play Sunday in Denver, as he may need more than one week of practice before the Ravens are comfortable activating him from IR and adding him to the 53-man roster. Baltimore will have a 21-day window with which to evaluate Boykin for a return from IR.
SEPTEMBER 29, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Will practice this week Coach John Harbaugh said Monday that Boykin (hamstring) will practice this week, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Boykin began the season on IR, so he's eligible to return this week if healthy. The 25-year-old appeared in 16 contests for the Ravens last year and caught 19 passes for 266 yards and four touchdowns. When active, he'll likely compete with James Proche and Devin Duvernay as the No. 3 wideout behind Sammy Watkins and Marquise Brown. Rookie first-round pick Rashod Bateman also is eligible to return off IR this week, but it's unclear how big of a role he'll have in his first season.
SEPTEMBER 27, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Placed on IR The Ravens placed Boykin (hamstring) on injured reserve Wednesday, Clifton Brown of the Ravens' official site reports.
Impact Boykin will be joined on IR by rookie first-round pick Rashod Bateman (groin), with the duo not eligible to return to action before Week 4. Following the transactions, the team's wideout corps currently features Marquise Brown, Sammy Watkins, James Proche, Devin Duvernay and Tylan Wallace.
SEPTEMBER 1, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Still sidelined Boykin (hamstring) is not practicing Wednesday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Impact Boykin got some work in on a separate field Wednesday, but a timetable for his return remains undisclosed. Even if Boykin manages to gain clearance in time for the Sept. 13 season opener in Las Vegas, he no longer has a clear path to offensive touches in Baltimore's crowded receiver corps. On the other hand, while rookie first-round pick Rashod Bateman (groin) works his way back to health, Boykin could handle an increased role if available.
SEPTEMBER 1, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Remains absent from practice Boykin (hamstring) remains sidelined Thursday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Impact Boykin has missed more than three weeks of practice due to a hamstring injury sustained in early August. The 2019 third-round pick already had gotten off to an unremarkable start to training camp before getting injured, and he's facing the toughest competition for offensive snaps of his career. On the other hand, starters Marquise Brown (hamstring), Sammy Watkins (undisclosed) and Rashod Bateman (groin) are all also dealing with injuries.
AUGUST 26, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Sitting out first preseason game Boykin (hamstring) will not play in Saturday's preseason game against New Orleans, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Boykin has dealt with a hamstring injury since August 2, and that's believed to be the reason he's sitting out Saturday's game. With Sammy Watkins, Rashod Bateman (groin) and Tylan Wallace added at receiver this offseason, Boykin faces competition for a roster spot for the first time in his three-year career.
AUGUST 14, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Leaves practice with injury Boykin departed Monday's practice early due to a hamstring injury, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Coach John Harbaugh said "we'll have to see" when asked about the severity of Boykin's injury. The 2019 third-round pick already was off to a slow start at training camp, in addition to facing increased competition, so he can ill afford to miss much time. Marquise Brown (hamstring) and Rashod Bateman (undisclosed) are also dealing with injuries, and quarterback Lamar Jackson (COVID-19 list) won't be back on the field until Friday, at the earliest.
AUGUST 2, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Facing increased competition Boykin is off to a slow start at training camp, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Impact Per Zrebiec, James Proche's strong start is giving him an inside track at a roster spot, and that creates a numbers crunch in terms of how many receivers the Ravens can carry on the regular-season roster. Boykin, who has yet to break out through two seasons, has blocking and special teams ability that makes him an asset. However, he'll need to show more as a pass catcher through the rest of camp to ensure his spot on the roster.

The Cleveland Browns are off to a record-setting start in Pittsburgh
JANUARY 10, 2021 • Associated Press
Long touchdown in rout Boykin had one catch for 43 yards and a touchdown on two targets against the Bengals.
Impact Boykin made the most of his only catch with a season-long 43-yard reception that also set his single-game season-high for receiving yards. 2020 wasn't smooth sailing for Boykin as far as his development goes; he went from a rookie season with 13 catches for 198 yards and three touchdowns on 22 targets and 433 snaps to 19 catches for 266 yards and four touchdowns on 33 targets and 546 snaps. Boykin maintains an extremely low target rate per snap despite Baltimore struggling to find much production in the passing game beyond Mark Andrews and Marquise Brown. The Ravens face the Titans on Sunday.

Snares one pass Boykin caught one of two targets for 13 yards in Sunday's 27-13 win over the Giants.
Impact Boykin has failed to catch more than one pass in a game since Week 8. He's yet to surpass 38 yards in a game this year despite starting in 12 of 15 games.
DECEMBER 29, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Nabs third touchdown Boykin had one catch for a four-yard touchdown on two targets Sunday against Jacksonville.
Impact Boykin was among three Ravens receivers to play over 50 percent of the snaps Sunday. He answered the bell with an acrobatic catch in the end zone for his third touchdown of the season and second in his last three games. Boykin still isn't drawing much target volume despite seeing his playing time trend back in the right direction. He hasn't had more than three targets in any game since Week 4 against Washington. Boykin and the Ravens host the Giants in Week 16.

DECEMBER 20, 2020 • NFL.COM
Moves off reserve/COVID-19 list Boykin was activated off the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Impact The Ravens will have a relatively healthy receiving corps with Hollywood Brown, Boykin and Dez Bryant all eligible to play Sunday. As a result, it's hard to imagine Boykin seeing another 40-plus offensive snaps like he has in the previous two weeks.
DECEMBER 19, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Trending toward playing Sunday Coach John Harbaugh said Friday that Boykin is "on track" to be activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list for Sunday's game versus the Jaguars, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun re...
Impact Wide receivers Marquise Brown and James Proche received the same vote of confidence from Harbaugh. Boykin was listed as a close contact to an infected person, and as long as he continues to test negative, he'll be in the lineup for Sunday's AFC clash. Dez Bryant will also be back in the lineup, so Boykin could see his reps decrease after consecutive games with higher than a 70 percent snap share.
