With Hughes officially done for the year, Cobee Bryant is expected to step into a starting role at outside cornerback versus New Orleans.

Ruled out for Monday Night Football Hughes (ankle) is ruled out for Monday's game against the Rams, Terrin Waack of the Falcons' official site reports.

Impact Hughes will miss a second-consecutive contest due to his ankle injury. In his stead, Atlanta will likely rely on Cobee Bryant to handle a starting role at outside cornerback, while Deven Thompkins dominates reps in the return game.

DNP Friday Hughes (ankle) did not participate in Friday's practice, Tori McElhaney reports.

Impact The Falcons held an estimated practice Thursday where Hughes was a DNP as well, which does not bode well for the cornerback's chances to suit up for Monday night's game against the Rams. With the Falcons eliminated from playoff contention, it is unlikely they will risk the 28-year-old's health by rushing him back. Cobee Bryant will likely get the start at outside cornerback if Hughes is ruled out for Monday's contest.

Listed as DNP Hughes (ankle) is listed as a non-participant on Thursday's estimated injury report, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports.

Impact Head coach Raheem Morris has already stated that Hughes is unlikely to be available for Monday's game against the Rams, so it's no surprise to see him listed as a non-participant to begin Week 17 prep. The starting cornerback and kick returner looks set to miss a second straight game due to the ankle injury he picked up versus the Buccaneers in Week 15.

Unlikely to return Week 17 Falcons coach Raheem Morris said Wednesday that Hughes (ankle) probably won't play Monday against the Rams, Josh Kendall of The Athletic reports.

Impact Hughes therefore seems set to miss his second straight game due to the ankle injury he suffered against Tampa Bay in Week 15. Rookie Cobee Bryant saw more work at cornerback this past Sunday against Arizona, as did veteran C.J. Henderson. Both could again have a defensive role if Hughes indeed sits out against Los Angeles.
