Get 11 touches in win Gordon rushed 10 times for 47 yards and caught his only target for six yards in Sunday's 16-9 win over the Texans.
Impact Gordon and fellow running back Javonte Williams were in a great spot against Houston's subpar defense, though neither back was able to have a breakout performance. In fact, the entire Denver offense continued to appear stale. Gordon took a backseat to Williams on the ground and through the air, seeing five fewer rushing attempts and three fewer targets. Despite handling less touches than Williams, the 29-year-old was similarly efficient. Gordon averaged 4.7 yards per carry, which was slightly behind Williams' average of 5.0 yards per carry. Denver's coaching staff seems committed to using both backs, so Gordon should continue to see a solid share of work going forward. The value of those touches, however, will depend on whether or not the Broncos can figure out their offensive woes. Denver will have the chance to do just that when the 49ers come to town in Week 3.

Impact Gordon returned to practice Monday and seems to have avoided any issues with the foot contusion that held him out last week. He's set to share work with Javonte Williams again, with Williams presumably taking a larger piece of the pie this year. Gordon said Wednesday that he expects Williams to be the starter but isn't sure how the rotation will work and knows he's "still got the juice," per Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site.

Impact Coach Nathaniel Hackett doesn't sound too worried, saying it's just something that needs to be managed during training camp. With Gordon missing some practice time, Mike Boone could rotate in with the first-team offense behind Javonte Williams. The real question, of course, is how the Broncos divide work between Gordon and Williams when both are healthy. Reports from Denver beat writers have been varied, though all seem to agree that Williams has at least been getting a slightly larger share of the first-team work during training camp

Expected to be impact player Coach Nathaniel Hackett believes Gordon will have an impact on the Broncos' offense in 2022, Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Gordon enters the 2022 campaign on a one-year deal he signed in April after the Broncos traded for quarterback Russell Wilson this offseason. The veteran running back agreed to rejoin Denver, and he believes that the team is committed to a system that can support multiple backs. According to Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com, the team's offensive coordinator, Justin Outten, said the running backs will be on a pitch count this season. With that said, Gordon asserts Hackett "is drawing enough stuff up that everybody can have the chance to get the ball." In fact, the coaching staff is making it a priority to get the running backs more involved in the passing game. In Hackett's three years as the Packers' offensive coordinator, running back Aaron Jones played a significant role in the team's passing attack, finishing second or third in receptions each year. If Gordon can carve out this role with the Broncos, he could hold quite a bit of value in fantasy this season for a back that figures to be part of a committee. The 29-year-old stands to benefit from what projects to be a drastically improved offense this season with Wilson at the helm.
