Expected to sign with Kansas City Gordon is expected to sign a practice-squad deal with the Chiefs on Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Impact Denver waived Gordon following a Week 11 fumble, and the running back went unclaimed through waivers due to his sizable contract. However, he's since found a new home in Kansas City and could crack the Chiefs' backfield rotation, which is currently led by rookie Isiah Pacheco. Gordon fumbled 12 times (nine lost) across 37 appearances with the Broncos, but he'll look to put those issues behind him in Kansas City. In his eight-year career, the 29-year-old has rushed for 6,462 yards and 55 touchdowns while securing 309 receptions for 2,467 yards and an additional 14 scores.

Hackett hands off play-calling duties, Broncos still sputter

Loses work after fumble Gordon rushed the ball eight times for 31 yards in Sunday's 22-16 loss to the Raiders. He added five receptions for 39 yards.
Impact Gordon narrowly led the Denver backfield in the first half, tallying five carries for 26 yards. However, he fumbled by the goal line late in the second quarter. While the Broncos were able to recover, the miscue led to a missed field-goal attempt rather than a potential touchdown. Gordon has also struggled to hold onto the ball this season, fumbling five times in 10 games. As a result, he was effectively benched in the second half but was forced into change-of-pace duties with Chase Edmonds (ankle) sidelined. If Edmonds is able to return for Week 12, it's possible that Gordon slips further down the depth chart.

Adams' 35-yard TD in OT powers Raiders past Broncos 22-16

Manages 70 total yards Gordon rushed the ball seven times for 24 yards in Sunday's 17-10 loss to the Titans. He added four receptions on six targets for 46 yards.
Impact Gordon started the game and played the first couple offensive possessions, but he ultimately was out-carried by Latavius Murray 9-7. However, Gordon was superior in his work as a receiver, as he finished second on the team in targets and topped 40 receiving yards in a game for the second time this season. While Gordon has maintained a fairly even split in the work out of the backfield, it remains to be seen if Chase Edmonds will force a further split as he becomes more familiar with the Denver offense.

Remains starting running back GM George Paton said Tuesday that Gordon still is the Broncos' starting running back, despite the Broncos acquiring Chase Edmonds in the Bradley Chubb trade with the Dolphins, Zac...
Impact Since Javonte Williams went down with a torn ACL in Week 4, Gordon has seen at least 52 percent of the offensive snaps in three of four games, with the exception a season-low 15 percent Week 6. Overall, Gordon racked up 46 touches for 213 yards from scrimmage and one rushing TD during that stretch, while Latavius Murray and Mike Boone (ankle, now on IR) combined for 57 touches. Clearly, there are reps available in the Broncos backfield, and Paton indicated Edmonds won't necessarily challenge Gordon for the No. 1 spot on the depth chart. As a result, Gordon should continue to be involved while ceding touches to Murray and Edmonds moving forward.

Faces new threat for backfield work Gordon and Latavius Murray could see their opportunities out of the Denver backfield take a hit after the Broncos acquired Chase Edmonds from the Dolphins on Tuesday, Adam Schefter...
Impact Denver and Miami executed a blockbuster deal ahead of the trade deadline, with Edmonds, a 2023 first-round pick and a 2024 fourth-round pick going to the Broncos in exchange for outside linebacker Bradley Chubb and a 2025 fifth-round selection. Edmonds had been in the midst of a disappointing first season in Miami and was struggling to find playing time behind Raheem Mostert, but the duo of Gordon and Murray likely represents less imposing competition for snaps and touches. Gordon and Murray had essentially split the work the past two weeks, with the former playing 53.6 percent of the snaps and carrying 20 times for 62 yards and a touchdown to go with five receptions for 40 yards between those contests. Murray, meanwhile, averaged 3.2 yards on 22 carries over those two weeks and hasn't made much of an impact as a receiver in recent seasons, so the door could be open for Edmonds to seize control of a three-down role. At least initially coming out of the Broncos' Week 9 bye week, Edmonds could be part of a three-headed timeshare in the backfield that would limit the fantasy upside of Edmonds, Gordon and Murray.

Finds way to end zone Gordon rushed the ball nine times for 29 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 21-17 win over the Jaguars. He added three receptions for 23 yards.
Impact Latavius Murray led the Denver backfield with 15 touches compared to Gordon's 12. However, Gordon still managed a productive fantasy performance thanks to a one-yard touchdown plunge midway through the third quarter. He has now failed to reach 35 rushing yards in five of his last six games and continues to lose work to Murray.

Leads backfield split against Jets Gordon rushed the ball 11 times for 33 yards in Sunday's 16-9 loss to the Jets. He added two receptions for 17 yards.
Impact As promised by coach Nathaniel Hackett, Gordon both started and led the Broncos' backfield against the Jets. However, he only out-touched Latavius Murray 13-10 and was also off the field during the team's only touchdown drive of the game. While Gordon may be the starter in name, Denver's backfield appears to be a near even split between Gordon and Murray. If the offense continues to struggle, neither back is likely to produce at a significant clip.
