Moves across AFC East
Breida has agreed to a one-year deal with the Bills, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact
Breida is probably looking at the No. 3 role for a deep Bills team, but it's not like Devin Singletary or Zack Moss wowed last season, so the speedy veteran will certainly get his share of chances after running for 254 yards and a 4.3 average on 59 carries with the Dolphins last season. Assuming Breida does make the final roster, the Buffalo running back group is starting to look like a true committee for 2021, and that's before we even see what the team does during the draft.

Invisible in finale
Breida did not handle an offensive snap during Sunday's blowout 56-26 loss to the Bills.
Impact
Breida wrapped up an underwhelming season in Miami with back-to-back games without a carry or target, playing just nine snaps on special teams Week 17. Outside of a Week 15 tilt against the Patriots in which injuries and complications related to COVID-19 thrust Breida into a larger role, the Dolphins' coaching staff never saw fit to trust him with more than occasional touches. He had 59 carries for 254 yards (4.3 YPC) through 12 contests, while also securing nine of 10 targets for 96 yards. Breida is set to hit free agency this offseason, and he'll no doubt look to find a landing spot that will afford him more regular opportunities.

Uninvolved on offense
Breida did not register an offensive snap during Saturday's 26-25 win over the Raiders.
Impact
Breida had 12 carries for 86 yards against the Patriots last week, but with Myles Gaskin now back in the lineup, his opportunities have completely evaporated. Salvon Ahmed and Lynn Bowden both worked behind Gaskin in the backfield, while Breida handled just 10 snaps on special teams.

Logs best game as a Dolphin
Breida had 12 carries for 86 yards during Miami's 22-12 win over the Patriots.
Impact
With Myles Gaskin (undisclosed) still on the COVID-19 list, Breida had great success as a complementary option to Salvon Ahmed, who had 23 carries for 122 yards and a score himself. It was Breida's first game with the Dolphins handling double-digit carries, and the first time he surpassed 50 yards in a single contest with the team. If any of DeVante Parker (hamstring), Mike Gesicki (shoulder) and Jakeem Grant (hamstring) are forced to sit out against the Raiders on Saturday, the Dolphins could be forced to lean heavily on the run again.

Back in action Sunday
In his return to action, Breida is in the mix for carries Sunday against the Patriots, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.
Impact
With Myles Gaskin (illness) still on the reserve/COVID-19 list, Salguero suggests that Salvon Ahmed and Breida "should get most of the carries" Sunday, with DeAndre Washington and Patrick Laird also on hand. While Breida isn't necessarily a high-percentage fantasy choice in that context, he is a consideration for those with limited options scrambling to plug lineup holes created by Sunday's inactives.

Comes off COVID-19 list
The Dolphins activated Breida (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
Breida missed two games while on the COVID list, but he'll be available for Sunday's divisional matchup against the Patriots. With Myles Gaskin (illness) now out and on the COVID list, and Salvon Ahmed (shoulder) still looking uncertain, Breida could have a chance to join DeAndre Washington atop Miami's backfield depth chart.

Placed on COVID-19 list
The Dolphins placed Breida (illness) on the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday.
Impact
Breida missed Friday's practice with an illness prior to being officially placed on the COVID-19 list, a transaction which rules him out for Sunday's game against the Bengals. Salvon Ahmed (shoulder) and DeAndre Washington (hamstring) are also both doubtful to face Cincinnati, which leaves Patrick Laird and Lynn Bowden as the only healthy running backs currently on Miami's roster. It seems likely that the team will promote Myles Gaskin (knee) from IR on Saturday, in time for him to reclaim the lead role, but in any event Miami won't have much in the way of backfield depth Week 13.

Second fiddle in easy win
Breida had eight carries for 36 yards during Sunday's 20-3 win over the Jets. He also secured both of his targets for 17 yards and fumbled once.
Impact
Breida was more efficient on the ground than DeAndre Washington (3.8 YPC), but he nonetheless handled five less carries and saw three fewer targets. He didn't see much work after fumbling in the third quarter. At one point in the offseason, it seemed as though Breida (not to mention Jordan Howard) was destined for a key role in the Dolphins' backfield, but even with both Myles Gaskin (knee) and Salvon Ahmed (shoulder) sidelined, the team doesn't seem willing to entrust him with more than No.2 duties. Even if both Gaskin and Ahmed sit out Week 13 against the Bengals, it will be difficult to trust Breida for fantasy purposes.

More work on tap
Breida is expected to be the Dolphins' primary running back after Myles Gaskin (knee) and Salvon Ahmed (shoulder) were ruled out for Sunday's matchup against the Jets, Cameron Wolf...
Impact
There was some hope Gaskin would be activated off injured reserve following his minimum three-game stint, but the team is evidently content allowing Breida to act as the primary ball carrier for at least this Sunday against the Jets. The 25-year-old has seen more than six carries just twice this season and sports a paltry 3.4 yards-per-carry across 39 totes this year, but this figures to be a solid matchup regardless considering the Jets' porous defense. Breida could even be a factor in the passing game, particularly with Ryan Fitzpatrick likely set to start behind center after Tua Tagavailoa (left thumb) was downgraded to doubtful.

ROTOWIRE
Barely involved in return
Breida had two carries for four yards during Sunday's 20-13 loss to the Broncos.
Impact
Breida shed his injury tag prior to suiting up Sunday, but he was nonetheless unable to garner more than minimal work behind undrafted rookie Salvon Ahmed (12 carries, five catches). The veteran previously spent the first half of the season behind Myles Gaskin (knee), and there's been nothing to hint that the Dolphins view him as more than a backup option.

Practices without limitations
Breida (hamstring) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
Breida has resumed practicing in full for the first time since he sustained his hamstring injury Week 8, a development which should put him on track to retake the field after back-to-back absences. The Dolphins recently cut Jordan Howard, and Myles Gaskin (knee) is set to miss at least one more game on IR. However, undrafted rookie Salvon Ahmed has impressed in recent weeks, including in a bellcow role during last weekend's win over the Chargers, so it's possible that Breida will once again be relegated to a complementary gig upon returning to the lineup.
