Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr. has informed the team that he will be away from it for personal reasons.

Released by Lions The Lions released Jones on Tuesday in order for the wide receiver to attend to a family matter, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.

Impact Jones didn't travel with the Lions for their Week 7 matchup with the Ravens for personal reasons. He then announced on Instagram on Tuesday that he's "stepping away from the team to take care of personal family matters," per Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network. It's unclear if Jones will be available at any point for the remainder of the campaign, but if not, he'll end his second stint in Detroit with five catches (on 10 targets) for 35 yards and no touchdowns.

Impact After posting no more than 22 yards in five consecutive games following a Week 11 bye, Jones paced all Jaguars with 61 yards and seven targets last Sunday in Houston.
