Impact McConkey was one of the few bright spots in Sunday's loss, as he combined both volume and big-play ability in a game for the first time as a pro. He was impressive on the Chargers' opening drive, racking up three catches for 27 yards -- highlighted by a seven-yard touchdown reception. McConkey added a 37-yard catch and run early in the third quarter to cap off his most productive day as a pro. While Los Angeles won't be a pass-heavy offense, McConkey is emerging as Justin Herbert's favorite target.

The rookie now has at least two catches in all three games and is clearly viewed as one of the team's top targets, but with such a heavy emphasis on the running game, it's hard to imagine any Chargers pass catcher putting together an explosive fantasy day, especially if Heinicke is slated to play more in the future.

He isn't necessarily a slot-only prospect given his 4.39 speed, but it makes sense that McConkey would get a lot of snaps inside if he's mostly on the field at the same time as the 6-foot-3 Chark and 6-foot-1 Palmer. The ideal scenario for rookie-year fantasy value would feature McConkey taking most of his 11 personnel snaps from the slot while also getting steady playing time in two-wide formations. In any case, it's a good sign that the 34th overall pick has been thrown right in with the first-team offense rather than forced to work his way up the depth chart.
