Impact Murphy has had quite an eventful season and he's now going to miss the rest of the campaign since this is his second stint on the injured list -- the previous one was in August, when he was dealing with an ankle injury. This probably means Matt Skura will play most of the snaps at left guard going forward.

Lands on IR Murphy (ankle) was placed on injured reserve by the Giants on Monday, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.

Impact Murphy left Saturday's preseason game against the Jets with a left ankle injury after playing just seven snaps. He was seen on crutches and a walking boot after the game which makes his move to injured reserve no surprise. Kenny Wiggins and Jonotthan Harrison are likely to garner the majority of the backup left guard snaps in Murphy's absence.

Departs with ankle injury Murphy left Saturday's preseason game against the Jets with a left ankle injury, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Impact Murphy played just seven snaps in Saturday's preseason opener before suffering the injury, and he was seen on crutches and in a walking boot after the game, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports. It's not yet clear when the 23-year-old will be able to return.
