Mumpfield finished the regular season with a 10-92-1 line on 23 targets, ahead of only Blake Corum's 36 yards for output on the season. There were a few positives for Mumpfield, as he was on the field for all 17 regular-season contests, and he saw regular usage as a primary backup for Puka Nacua and Davante Adams (hamstring) on offense alongside Xavier Smith after mostly staying on the bench for the first six games of the season. Mumpfield will get his first taste of the NFL postseason on Saturday, as the Rams travel to Carolina for a wild-card round showdown.

Struggles in elevated role Mumpfield secured two of five targets for 10 yards during Monday's 27-24 loss to the Falcons.

Impact For the second straight week, Mumpfield brought in less than half of his targets from Matthew Stafford, including an overthrown pass in the second quarter that Jessie Bates intercepted and returned 34 yards for a touchdown. Mumpfield has gotten an extended look in the last six weeks, with at least 20 snaps played on offense during each contest, but an 8-80-0 receiving line on 17 targets over that span doesn't inspire much confidence for fantasy purposes. Week 18 against the Cardinals still has meaning for the Rams in terms of playoff seeding, but even with Davante Adams (hamstring) still recovering from injury, Mumpfield's production seems unlikely to deviate much from his recent trends.

Impact Mumpfield helped fill in for the sidelined Davante Adams (hamstring/knee) and drew the second-most targets on the night from Matthew Stafford, although he still only got to half of team leader Puka Nacua's total. Mumpfield wasn't efficient with his opportunities, but he still finished with new career highs in receptions, receiving yards and targets. Impact Mumpfield's maiden touchdown of his NFL career came when he burned past Jourdan Lewis and caught a five-yard dart from Matthew Stafford in the end zone. This was the first of Stafford's five touchdown passes, but despite the initial touchdown grab, Mumpfield wouldn't see another target on the day. The lack of targets isn't atypical, as this was just his second catch on the year.
