Reverts to IR
Ingram (undisclosed) reverted to injured reserve Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Impact
The Chiefs waived Ingram with an injury designation Thursday, and after clearing waivers, the 25-year-old was placed on IR. The USC product got into just one game for Kansas City last season, logging five special-teams snaps and no offensive snaps. Ingram will miss the 2025 campaign unless he works out an injury settlement with the Chiefs.

Waived/injured by KC
Ingram (undisclosed) was waived/injured by the Chiefs on Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Impact
The running back will revert to injured reserve once he clears waivers. Ingram spent 2024 with Kansas City, appeared in one game and on five special-teams snaps and landed a reserve/future contract after the season. The 2022 sixth-round pick of the Cardinals spent two seasons with his original team and carried the ball 62 times for 136 yards and a touchdown.

Inks future deal with Chiefs
Kansas City signed Ingram to a reserve/future contract Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Impact
Ingram signed a one-year, $985,000 contract with the Chiefs in February of 2024 after spending the first two year of his NFL career with the Cardinals. He wasn't able to make the 53-man roster at the end of training camp in late August, but Ingram was signed to the active roster in mid-September after Isiah Pacheco was placed on injured reserve due to a fibula fracture. Ingram's only appearance of the 2024 season was Week 3 against the Falcons, and after being waived from the active roster Sept. 24 he opted to stick around by signing to the Chiefs' practice squad two days later. Ingram will be on the 90-man roster at the start of the new league year and will be able to participate in offseason training programs ahead of the 2025 season.

Back to practice squad
The Chiefs re-signed Ingram to the practice squad Thursday, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.
Impact
Ingram was waived by Kansas City on Tuesday to make room for veteran running back Kareem Hunt on the 53-man roster. After having just played five snaps on special teams during the Chiefs' win over the Falcons in Week 3, despite Isaiah Pacheco (fibula) being on injured reserve, Ingram will now resume handling an emergency depth role for the team.

Let go by Kansas City
The Chiefs waived Ingram on Tuesday, per the NFL transaction log.
Impact
Ingram was signed to the active roster ahead of Kansas City's Week 3 matchup against Atlanta to provide backfield depth after Isiah Pacheco (fibula) was placed on injured reserve. Ingram ended up playing just five special-teams snaps in the Chiefs' win on Sunday over the Falcons, as he was buried on the depth chart behind Carson Steele and Samaje Perine. Ingram was waived Tuesday to make room on the active roster for Kareem Hunt, and the former will explore his next options should he clear waivers.

Joins active roster
Ingram has been signed to the Chiefs' active roster.
Impact
With Isiah Pacheco (leg) having landed on IR and out indefinitely, Ingram will bolster Kansas City's backfield depth ahead of Week 3 action. For now, Carson Steele and Samaje Perine are the other RBs on the team's active roster, with Clyde Edwards-Helaire on the reserve/non-football illness and Kareem Hunt having just been officially added to the practice squad. For now, Ingram figures to work in a depth role, though once Hunt is up to speed with the offense, he could be elevated and move ahead of Ingram on the team's depth chart.

Brought back by Kansas City
Ingram signed with the Chiefs' practice squad Wednesday.
Impact
Ingram signed a reserve/future contract with the Chiefs in February after spending the first two years of his career with the Cardinals. He was unable to make Kansas City's 53-man roster after finishing the preseason with nine carries for 42 yards and two catches for nine yards, but the 2022 sixth-round pick will stick around on the practice squad.

Done in Kansas City
The Chiefs waived Ingram on Tuesday.
Impact
Ingram made a deal with Kansas City after an underwhelming start to his NFL career with the Cardinals, but now the Chiefs have decided to move on too. He has good physical tools, but his production as a pro up to this point has been poor.

Back to practice squad
The Chiefs reverted Ingram to the practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Impact
Ingram was called up as insurance for the Chiefs with Isaiah Pacheco (concussion/shoulder) and Clyde Edwards-Helaire (illness) listed as questionable ahead of Week 17. Although Edwards-Helaire didn't end up playing, Pacheco was able to suit up and the team opted to keep Ingram on the sidelines with La'Mical Perine operating as the RB2.

Up from practice squad
The Chiefs elevated Ingram from their practice squad ahead of Sunday's game against the Bengals.
Impact
With both Isiah Pacheco (concussion/shoulder) and Clyde Edwards-Helaire (illness) listed as questionable for the contest, Ingram gives the Chiefs added Week 17 depth in a backfield that also includes La'Mical Perine. In eight games with the Cardinals prior to landing with Kansas City, Ingram logged 74 yards on 35 carries to go along with four catches for 26 yards.

Gets two carries in Week 10
Ingram tallied two carries for two yards during Sunday's 25-23 win against the Falcons.
Impact
The Cardinals rode James Conner (knee) out of the backfield in his first action since Week 5, as he turned 41 (of 65) offensive snaps into 16 carries for 73 yards. Meanwhile, Ingram got 14 snaps, and fellow reserve Tony Jones recorded seven plays en route to one carry for 13 yards. With Conner cleared for his typical workhorse role moving forward, Ingram's usage likely will be contingent upon when Emari Demercado may be able to return from a toe injury. Still, Conner leaves nothing more than scraps for his backups, meaning Ingram is tough to trust for production for the foreseeable future.

Gets back into offensive mix
Ingram tallied two carries for nine yards and caught his only target for seven yards during Sunday's 31-24 loss to the Ravens.
Impact
After being contained to nine snaps on special teams Week 7, Ingram regained a small foothold on offense, despite logging 29 plays in that realm. Meanwhile, Emari Demercado continued to dominate the Cardinals backfield, with James Conner (knee) on injured reserve, turning 42 snaps into 21 touches for 79 yards from scrimmage. Fellow RB Damien Williams suffered a foot injury Sunday, so Ingram may be the exclusive No. 2 option behind Demercado on Sunday in Cleveland.

No work on offense in Week 7
Ingram tallied nine snaps on special teams and none on offense during Sunday's 20-10 loss in Seattle.
Impact
One week removed from pacing the Cardinals with 10 carries in their first game since James Conner (knee) was placed on IR, Ingram was relegated entirely to special-teams work Sunday. The backfield instead was led by Emari Demercado, who turned an 80 percent snap share into 17 touches for 75 yards from scrimmage. Behind Demercado, Damien Williams had just one rush for two yards on 18 percent of the snaps. Demercado may now have a leg up on Williams and Ingram for touches until Conner returns, making it difficult to rely on Ingram for production.

Records just 31 touches as rookie
Ingram finished his rookie campaign with 27 carries for 60 yards and one touchdown and four catches (on five targets) for 21 yards in 12 appearances.
Impact
A 2022 sixth-round pick, Ingram was a healthy scratch for the first five games before making his debut Week 6. Despite numerous injuries in the backfield and the Cardinals cutting Eno Benjamin in early November, Ingram mustered three-plus touches in just three different contests and sputtered to 2.2 yards per carry. James Conner remains under contract with the team through 2024, but as the roster currently stands Ingram and Ty'Son Williams are the only other RBs ahead of the upcoming season. Arizona's new coaching staff and offseason moves may dictate how much work Ingram is able to squeeze out behind Conner, but the latter's injury history indicates the former could make a much larger mark in his second year as a pro.
