Ethan Driskell - Not practicing Driskell (appendix) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site of the Chiefs official team site reports.
Impact Driskell will miss some time for Kansas City as he is working his way back from an appendectomy. The 25-year-old who joined the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent last year appeared in two games a season ago. If he happens to miss extended time, it could damage his chances to make the roster as a rotational piece on the offensive line.

Hollywood Brown - Won't play Friday Brown (ankle/foot) won't play in Friday's preseason contest against the Seahawks, Nate Taylor of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Brown remained sidelined during Wednesday's practice, per Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site and the wideout is now slated to sit out his second straight exhibition contest Friday. Brown's last chance to see preseason snaps will arrive Aug. 22 against the Bears.

Patrick Mahomes - Not likely to play Friday Coach Andy Reid noted Wednesday that there's "a good chance" Mahomes won't play in Friday's preseason game against the Seahawks, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.
Impact Apart from Mahomes, the Chiefs may sit some other starters Friday, with Reid suggesting that he wants the team's younger players to get as many reps as possible. Mahomes started the team's preseason opener this past Saturday against the Cardinals, but logged just three snaps before giving way to fellow QBs Gardner Minshew, Bailey Zappe and Chris Oladokun.

After Statistical Downturn, Is Patrick Mahomes No Longer the NFL’s QB1?
Tyquan Thornton - Honing in on roster spot Thornton is a likely candidate to make the Chiefs' 53-man roster, Jesse Newell of The Athletic reports.
Impact Thornton isn't exactly a roster lock in the way that Rashee Rice (groin), Xavier Worthy, Hollywood Brown (ankle), JuJu Smith-Schuster and rookie fourth-rounder Jalen Royals project as, but Newell reports that training camp has clearly demonstrated that Andy Reid envisions a role for his 4.28 speed. Newell notes that Thornton would be an ideal fit to take over the field-stretching role Kansas City had relied on Justin Watson, now with the Texans, to handle the last three seasons. Thornton will also be a candidate to contribute in the return game, which would boost his odds of securing a depth WR spot on the regular-season roster.
