Practice window not opening yet Colts head coach Shane Steichen said Wednesday the team is not yet designating Brents (knee) to return from IR, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.

Impact Brents, who was placed on IR after injuring his knee during Indianapolis' regular-season opener, has technically been eligible to resume practicing since early October. It doesn't appear as though the second-year pro has a significant chance of returning for Sunday's road matchup against the Broncos, though, which will leave him with just three more opportunities to get back on the field before the conclusion of the regular season.

Impact Brents will undergo a procedure for the knee injury he sustained during Sunday's 29-27 loss to Houston. Whether the 2023 second-round pick will return this season will not be known until after the surgery, though Mike Chappell of Fox 59 News Indianapolis reports that Brents is not dealing with an ACL injury, and the 24-year-old corner could return in mid-December. With Brents sidelined, Kenny Moore could step into the starting corner role opposite Jaylon Jones. Moore played all 79 defensive snaps for the Colts on Sunday and finished with five tackles (four solo).

It's another tough blow for the promising young cornerback, who missed eight regular-season games in 2023 due to a quadriceps injury. With not much depth at the position, it's not clear where the Colts will turn, with Samuel Womack and Dallis Flowers the only other corners on the current roster other than starter Jaylon Jones and nickelback Kenny Moore.
