Impact After going unclaimed on waivers, Rosen apparently could've signed with an active roster elsewhere, but he chose to restart his career in a good situation in Tampa Bay. With head coach Bruce Arians and legendary QB Tom Brady, Rosen stands to learn a lot as a practice-squad member with the Buccaneers, and he can be patient as he develops before seeking a new team.

Impact Rosen is a free agent for the first time since being selected 10th overall by the Cardinals in the 2018 NFL Draft. Apparently, Rosen's agents actively lobbied teams not to claim him off waivers, providing the 23-year-old an opportunity to choose where he'll get a fresh start. The quarterback has spent the last two seasons with the Cardinals and Dolphins, and although he underperformed, neither of those teams were ideal for his development. Rosen will seek a backup job where he can fine-tune his skills for a potential starting job in the future.

Impact This really shouldn't be a surprise - the Bengals just used the first overall pick on the 2020 draft on Joe Burrow, and aren't looking for another project as a potential future starting quarterback. They might however look for a third quarterback on the waiver wire just to have some depth.
