Impact Lambo has already come off injured reserve once this season, so he won't be eligible to return again. The 29-year-old aggravated a gluteus medius muscle injury while attempting an onside kick in the final two minutes of Sunday's loss to the Texans. In four appearances with the Jaguars in 2020, Lambo converted all five of his field-goal tries and eight of 10 extra-point attempts. Jacksonville signed Aldrick Rosas to the practice squad Monday, and it's always possible the team will reach back out to Jonathan Brown or Brandon Wright (groin), both of whom previously filled in for Lambo this season.

Season-ending injury feared Lambo aggravated his gluteus medius muscle during Sunday's 27-25 loss to the Texans and is expected to miss the remainder of the 2020 campaign, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Impact The Jaguars expect to place Lambo on injured reserve in the near future. He previously missed five games due to a lesser version of his current injury, so while Jacksonville hasn't yet officially ruled Lambo out for the year, his chances of retaking the field could be slim. In place of Lambo, the Jaguars may look into Jonathan Brown, who started Week 6 against the Lions. Alternatively, if Brandon Wright has managed to recover from his groin injury, it's possible that the rookie out of Georgia State could get another chance.

Impact The 29-year-old sustained the injury on an onside-kick attempt in the final two minutes. Coach Doug Marrone couldn't provide specifics on the injury but indicated it could be a serious issue. Lambo spent a month on injured reserve with an injury to the same hip before returning in late October, and it's possible he's headed back to the shelf. The veteran made field goals from 30 and 59 yards while converting one of two extra-point attempts Sunday.

Impact Lambo missed the last four games with a hip injury but returned to action for Sunday's AFC showdown. The Jaguars scored four touchdowns but opted to go for two points three times for strategic reasons, leaving Lambo with an underwhelming fantasy finish. This was more of a case of bad luck than a measure of the coaching staff's faith in Lambo, and he should be a decent fantasy option when the Texans come to town after the Week 8 bye. The Texans have allowed 31 points per game but have a decent red-zone defense, allowing opponents to score on 62.5 percent of trips, 13th in the league.
