Impact Petaia went to the Chargers' injured reserve list a week ago with an unspecified injury, and he would have had to stay there for the whole 2025 season, but now he's on track for free agency instead. There's currently no timetable for his recovery from his injury, though.

Impact Petaia will move to the IR after we wasn't claimed off waivers by another team, and he will be forced to miss the entire 2025 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with the Chargers. The former Australian rugby player signed with the Chargers in early April as part of the International Player Pathway program.
