INJURIES

Five touches in win Ford carried four times for 19 yards and caught his lone target for eight yards in Thursday's 24-19 win over the Steelers. He also returned three kickoffs for 72 yards.
Impact Ford watched Nick Chubb handle the bulk of the duty on a snowy and windy night in Cleveland. With Chubb getting stronger each week since coming back from a knee injury, there hasn't been much opportunity for Ford to shine. He has 11 carries for 34 yards and six catches for 39 yards over the last three games since returning from a hamstring injury.

Nine touches in loss Ford rushed five times for 10 yards and caught all four targets for 29 yards in Sunday's 35-14 loss to the Saints. He also returned two kickoffs for 37 yards.
Impact Ford was given more opportunities in his second game back from a hamstring injury that cost him two games. He went from three touches to nine, two shy of starter Nick Chubb, and was involved in a productive Cleveland offense that gained a season-high 443 yards. Obviously, the season's gone sideways for a team that held playoff aspirations. The 2-8 Browns face an uncertain future and roster questions abound, which include at running back. Chubb is working on a one-year deal and coming back from a serious knee injury, while Ford is signed through the end of 2025.

Three touches in return Ford rushed two times for five yards and caught one of three targets for two yards in Sunday's 27-10 loss to the Chargers in Week 9.
Impact The Chargers defense came as advertised and shut down all aspects of Cleveland's offense. Ford, who returned from a two-game absence due to a hamstring injury, couldn't find any more room than starter Nick Chubb (15 carries, 39 yards). With the Browns down by three scores at halftime and eventually four scores, Ford was the backfield leader in playing time (36 snaps). The loss was another in a disappointing season in Cleveland, which enters its bye week (and the NFL trade deadline Tuesday) with potential roster decisions to make. That includes on Chubb, who is coming back from a serious knee injury and is in the final year of his contract. If the team moves on from Chubb, then Ford would be in line as the starter for the rest of the season.
NOVEMBER 4, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Set for first action since Week 6 Ford (hamstring) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Impact Ford upgraded to full practice participation Friday after a pair of limited sessions, paving the way for him to return from a two-game absence. He was the top option in Cleveland's backfield while Nick Chubb worked his way back from a knee injury to begin the season, but Ford will likely work in a change-of-pace role behind a healthy Chubb moving forward.
NOVEMBER 1, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Another limited practice Ford (hamstring) was limited at practice Wednesday, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Ford has missed two straight games, but back-to-back limited practices (including this past Friday) suggest that he has a chance to suit up this weekend against the Chargers. That said, with Nick Chubb having reclaimed the top job in Cleveland's backfield, Ford's fantasy upside has taken a notable hit ahead of Week 9 action.
OCTOBER 30, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Ruled out against Ravens Ford (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Ravens, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Impact Ford will sit out a second consecutive game, but he returned to practice Friday, which was a step in the right direction. If Ford's able to resume practicing regularly prior to Week 9 against the Chargers, he would have a good chance to return to action Nov. 3. Nick Chubb is Cleveland's top backfield option now that he's available, while Pierre Strong and D'Onta Foreman will back up Chubb against Baltimore.
OCTOBER 25, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
At Friday's practice Ford (hamstring) was present for practice Friday, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Ford missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, but his presence at Friday's session suggests that he has a chance to be available Sunday against the Ravens. The Browns' upcoming injury report will clarify the running back's Week 8 status, but if Ford is active Sunday, he'd presumably be in line to work in a complementary role, now that Nick Chubb is back in Cleveland's backfield mix.
OCTOBER 25, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Sitting out another practice Ford (hamstring) was a non-participant in Thursday's practice, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
Impact Unless he's able to get back on the field in some capacity Friday, Ford will likely be ruled out for a second straight game heading into Sunday's matchup with the Ravens. Before exiting the Browns' Week 6 loss to the Eagles with the hamstring injury, Ford had been serving as Cleveland's lead option out of the backfield, but he'll likely have to settle for a secondary role behind the now-healthy Nick Chubb once he's ready to play again.
OCTOBER 24, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Not practicing Wednesday Ford (hamstring) isn't in line to practice Wednesday, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Impact Ford, who missed this past Sunday's loss to the Bengals, will have two more opportunities to practice ahead of this weekend's game against the Ravens. If he's available for the contest, Ford would presumably be in line to step into a complementary role in Cleveland's backfield, with Nick Chubb having returned to action in Week 7.
OCTOBER 23, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Won't play against Bengals Ford (hamstring) won't play Sunday against the Bengals, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Impact Ford, who didn't practice this week, will thus target a potential return to action in Week 8 against the Ravens. In his absence Sunday, some combo Nick Chubb (knee, questionable) -- who's expected to be activated from the PUP list this weekend -- D'Onta Foreman, and Pierre Strong are in line to handle Cleveland's backfield duties versus Cincinnati.
OCTOBER 18, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Still not practicing Ford (hamstring) remained sidelined at Friday's practice, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Ford has yet to practice this week, clouding his status for Sunday's game against the Bengals. If he ends up ruled out for the contest, the Browns' Week 7 backfield could be comprised of Nick Chubb (knee) -- who's expected to come off the PUP list this weekend -- D'Onta Foreman (groin, limited Wednesday and Thursday) and Pierre Strong.
OCTOBER 18, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Remains sidelined Thursday Ford (hamstring) is not present at the portion of Thursday's practice open to the media, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Impact Ford has been deemed week-to-week since being forced out of Cleveland's loss to the Eagles in Week 6 due to a hamstring injury, and he hasn't practiced in any capacity since. With Ford trending in the wrong direction for Sunday's game against the Bengals, the Browns have expressed optimism that Nick Chubb (knee) will be able to come off the PUP list and make his season debut. Both D'Onta Foreman and Pierre Strong also remain available to contribute out of the backfield.
OCTOBER 17, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Slated to miss practice Ford (hamstring) isn't in line to practice Wednesday, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Impact Ford not practicing Wednesday comes as no surprise, with coach Kevin Stefanski having previously called the running back week-to-week, per Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com. While Ford's availability for Sunday's game against the Bengals is cloudy, Nick Chubb (knee) is expected to rejoin the Browns' backfield this weekend.
OCTOBER 16, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Deemed week-to-week by coach Ford (hamstring) is considered week-to-week, coach Kevin Stefanski said Monday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Impact Ford was injured in Sunday's 20-16 loss to the Eagles. He's unlikely to play in Week 7 against the Bengals, though more information on that front will surface when the Browns resume practicing Wednesday. Cleveland is well positioned to weather a potential absence from Ford, as Nick Chubb (knee) is on track to come off IR and make his season debut against Cincinnati, plus the Browns have D'Onta Foreman and Pierre Strong in the backfield.

Won't return Week 6 Ford (hamstring) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against Philadelphia, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Impact Ford was injured in the first quarter and was ruled out just before halftime. Prior to his exit, the running back rushed twice for 14 yards and didn't receiving any passing targets. It's uncertain if the hamstring issue will affect Ford's availability to face the Bengals next Sunday, and even if he does suit up he could have a lessened workload with Nick Chubb (knee) expected to be active for the first time since Week 2 of last season.

Jerome Ford questionable to return vs. the Eagles Ford sustained a hamstring injury in the first quarter against the Eagles
OCTOBER 13, 2024 • CLEVELANDBROWNS.COM
Hurts hamstring Sunday Ford was forced out of Sunday's game against the Eagles with a hamstring injury.
Impact Before sustaining the injury, Ford carried twice for 14 yards. In his absence, D'Onta Foreman and Pierre Strong are next up for the Browns' Week 6 carries, while Nick Chubb (knee/PUP list) is still unavailable but trending toward returning to the team's backfield mix next week.
OCTOBER 13, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Trending to lead role Week 6 Ford is expected to maintain the lead backfield role Week 6 against Philadelphia, as both Nick Chubb (knee) and Nyheim Hines (knee) are ruled out on the Browns' injury report.
Impact Ford will top the backfield for a sixth consecutive game, but it hasn't gone well for him or the Browns. He's gained a healthy 5.2 yards per carry, but has fewer than 10 carries per game and one touchdown. The team's play caller -- head coach Kevin Stefanski -- has led a game plan thus far that tilted toward the passing game, and the results aren't pretty. Perhaps the coach will shift focus, leaning on Ford and the ground game, against the league's 20th ranked rushing defense (128.8 yards per game).
OCTOBER 12, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Splits work with Foreman Ford carried the ball nine times for 47 yards and caught all three of his targets for two yards in Sunday's 34-13 loss to the Commanders.
Impact While he led the Cleveland backfield in rushing yards, Ford's production on the ground was nearly identical to D'Onta Foreman, who gained 44 yards on nine carries. The entire Browns' offense is struggling right now, and being in a timeshare won't help Ford break out -- the third-year RB hasn't seen more than 10 carries or scored a TD in four straight games, topping out at 64 rushing yards during that stretch. The team's backfield situation will change radically once Nick Chubb (knee) is cleared to return, but if Chubb remains sidelined in Week 6, Ford will try to make an impact against a well-rested Eagles defense that will be coming out of its bye.

Still lead back Ford is expected to be the lead back Sunday against the Commanders, as both Nick Chubb (knee) and Nyheim Hines (knee) have been ruled out.
Impact Ford should be the lead back for a fifth consecutive week, but the time is ticking after the Browns designated Chubb and Hines to return during the preparation week. The Browns rank 26th in rushing offense (94.8 ypg) and have yet to commit a ground attack. Ford has just 39 carries through four games and is averaging 5.2 yards per carry.

SEPTEMBER 30, 2024 • CLEVELAND.COM
Turns 17 touches into 85 yards Ford (knee) ran the ball 10 times for 58 yards while adding seven receptions on as many targets for 27 yards in Sunday's 20-16 loss to Las Vegas.
Impact Ford overcame a minor knee injury he picked up in Week 3 to lead Cleveland's backfield in a close loss to the Raiders. The veteran tailback finished with a new high of 85 combined yards through four starts replacing Nick Chubb (knee) this year. Ford has yet to hit pay dirt since scoring his lone touchdown in Week 1, but he maintains a strong hold on the starting job while Chubb remains sidelined. The 25-year-old should carry FLEX appeal heading into a Week 5 matchup against the Commanders.
