Jets' Breece Hall questionable for season finale against Bills, Isaiah Williams voted team MVP
New York Jets running back Breece Hall is questionable for Sunday's season finale against the Buffalo Bills

Associated Press
Done for the year
Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said Friday that Woods (hamstring) is ruled out for Sunday's season finale against New England.
Impact
Woods appeared in four regular-season with New York in 2025 after having spent the prior to years on IR with the Colts, due to hamstring and toe injuries. Across his appearances with the Jets, he secured one of three targets for four yards. Woods is slated to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and continued concerns about his ability to stay healthy will likely tamper the amount of interest he receives from teams around the league.

Downgrades to DNP
Woods (hamstring) did not practice Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
Woods was limited in Wednesday's session due to a hamstring injury but was held out of Thursday's practice, which has the fourth-year tight end trending in the wrong direction. His practice participation Friday will determine whether he is tagged with an injury designation ahead of Sunday's regular-season finale against the Bills.

Picks up hamstring injury
Woods was a limited participant in practice Wednesday due to a hamstring issue, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
Woods may have suffered the injury in Sunday's loss to New England, when he notched his first catch of the season. The fourth-year tight end has been getting more work on offense of late, averaging 19.7 offensive snaps over the past three weeks. That opportunity has come because Mason Taylor -- who didn't practice Wednesday -- has missed three straight games due to a neck injury.

Draws first two targets of season
Woods failed to corral either of his targets while playing 13 of 66 snaps on offense Sunday in the Jets' 29-6 loss to the Saints.
Impact
With Mason Taylor (neck) sitting out a second straight game, Woods once again suited up and provided depth at tight end. He still ranked third among Jets tight ends in snaps and was outproduced by both Jeremy Ruckert (two catches for 14 yards on three targets) and Stone Smartt (five catches for 34 yards on five targets). If Taylor is able to make it back for the Jets' Week 17 game against the Patriots, expect Woods to find himself back on the inactive list.

Won't play Week 14
Woods (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
The Dolphins will go with three active tight ends in Mason Taylor, Jeremy Ruckert and Stone Smartt for Sunday's AFC East clash. Woods' next chance to play is Week 14 against the Jaguars on Sunday, Dec. 14, but he's unlikely to play in that game unless the Jets require additional depth at tight end.

Inactive for Week 10
Woods (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against Cleveland.
Impact
Woods was a healthy scratch for the Jets' first seven games of the regular season before making his 2025 debut against the Bengals in Week 8. He's a healthy scratch for Week 10, as the Jets go with three active tight ends in Mason Taylor, Jeremy Ruckert and Stone Smartt.

Healthy scratch again
Woods (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Bills, Randy Lange of the Jets' official site reports.
Impact
Woods was claimed off waivers by the Jets in late August after failing to make the Colts' 53-man roster at the end of training camp. However, he will be in street clothes as a healthy inactive for a second consecutive week, and his next opportunity to make his Jets debut is Week 3 against the Buccaneers on Sunday, Sept. 21. Mason Taylor was able to shake off an ankle injury to be cleared to play and will serve as the Jets' starting tight end while Jeremy Ruckert and Stone Smartt serve as the backups.

Won't make team debut Week 1
Woods (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Steelers, Randy Lange of the Jets' official site reports.
Impact
Woods was claimed off waivers by the Jets in late August after failing to make the Colts' 53-man roster at the end of training camp. The 2022 third-rounder will have to wait to make his Jets debut as the team goes with three active tight ends in Stone Smartt, Jeremy Ruckert and rookie second-rounder Mason Taylor. Woods' next chance to play is Week 2 against the Bills on Sunday, Sept. 14.

Joins Jets as waiver claim
Woods was claimed off waivers by the Jets on Wednesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Impact
Woods spent the past two seasons on injured reserve due to hamstring and toe injuries after posting 312 receiving yards and three touchdowns in a promising 2022 rookie season for the Colts. Indianapolis invested significant draft capital into the tight end position during Woods' absence, leading to him being waived Tuesday, but he lands on his feet Wednesday, joining an underwhelming Jets depth chart topped by rookie second-round pick Mason Taylor. If the 6-foot-7 Woods rediscovers his own rookie form, he could surpass backups Jeremy Ruckert and Stone Smartt before long.

Cut loose by Indy
The Colts are cutting Woods, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
Woods, a 2022 third-round pick, put up a 25-312-3 receiving line as a rookie but then missed the past two seasons due to a severe hamstring injury and turf toe. The Colts moved on in the meantime, drafting Tyler Warren in the first round this spring.

Two receptions in preseason opener
Woods had two receptions for 23 yards on three targets in Thursday's preseason loss at Baltimore.
Impact
Woods was once viewed as a possible impact player in the passing game, but has missed back-to-back full seasons due to injuries (hamstring issues in 2023 and turf toe in 2024). The 2022 third-round pick isn't likely to have much of a role this season even if he makes the final roster with the team's selection of rookie first-rounder Tyler Warren. However, Woods could find his way to relevance on another roster with a good preseason showing.
