INJURIES

Not playing in first preseason game Reed (foot) is not suiting up for Saturday's preseason contest against the Jets.
Impact Reed's absence isn't a surprise since he's been dealing with a toe injury and a separate foot issue during training camp. There isn't reason to believe at this point that Reed will have any trouble being ready for Week 1 of the regular season, and he could suit up before the preseason comes to an end. Fellow wideout Dontayvion Wicks (calf) also isn't playing Saturday, leaving rookie Matthew Golden and veteran Romeo Doubs as the top pass-catching options for Jordan Love, who is slated to see some action.

Likely sitting out vs. Jets Reed (foot) is not expected to suit up for Saturday's preseason opener against the Jets, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.
Impact Reed has been on and off the practice field throughout the early stages of training camp, first with a toe injury and now due to a foot issue. Green Bay is expected to rest the third-year starter, meaning Reed's next opportunity to suit up for preseason action will come Aug. 16 on the road at Indianapolis. Dontayvion Wicks (calf) is also expected to sit out versus New York.

2025 NFC North Player Specials: What Will Year 2 Hold For Caleb Williams?
Sits out practice Thursday Reed (foot) is not participating in Thursday's practice, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Impact Reed logged brief stints away from the practice field due to a toe issue earlier in training camp, so it remains to be seen whether the foot injury he's dealing with Thursday is a related matter. By all appearances, though, the third-year wideout hasn't been dealing with any serious injuries. It remains to be seen whether Reed will be cleared to participate in Saturday's preseason opener against the Jets.

Practicing after all Reed (toe) is doing full-team drills Friday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Impact It sounds like there was a miscommunication, as Reed made a spectacular catch in 11-on-11s just minutes after he was announced as a non-participant. In any case, this confirms that the toe injury he suffered Thursday is nothing serious.
AUGUST 1 • ROTOWIRE
Not practicing due to toe injury Reed will miss Friday's practice with a toe injury, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Impact Reed left Thursday's practice early, with Packers coach Matt LaFleur explaining Friday morning that the wideout had an issue with his cleats. The problem apparently led to some discomfort or pain that can't be immediately solved by new cleats, but this doesn't sound like anything that will keep Reed out for long.

Taking part in OTAs Reed (shoulder) is participating in on-field positional drills at OTAs on Wednesday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Impact Reed appears back to full health after having suffered a dislocated shoulder during Green Bay's 22-10 wild-card loss to the Eagles in January, an injury for which he didn't require surgery. The third-year pro has prioritized bulking up early in the offseason, with passing game coordinator Jason Vrable saying mid-May that Reed is currently 199 pounds after playing at 187 pounds in 2024. The Packers' selection of Matthew Golden in the first round of April's draft, plus Savion Williams in the third round, provides Jordan Love and the passing game the requisite tools to grow more dynamic in 2025, a development that could prove positive for Reed in Year 3 even if he faces increased target competition. Romeo Doubs (concussion) and newcomer Mecole Hardman (knee) are also practicing Wednesday.

Bulks up in offseason Packers passing game coordinator Jason Vrable said Wednesday that Reed (shoulder) has bulked up to 199 pounds this offseason and is acting as a leader in the wide receiver room, Ro...
Impact Reed's playing weight was listed at 187 pounds last season, so if he's able to retain his quickness despite adding bulk, additional muscle will boost his odds of managing a Year 3 breakout. General manager Brian Gutekunst said that the team still views Reed as its "top receiver" despite drafting Matthew Golden (23rd overall) and Savion Williams (87th overall) in the first three rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft, but it's nonetheless difficult to project exactly how much target volume the slot specialist will be able to demand in what now looks like one of the league's more crowded WR rooms. Reed has managed to lead Green Bay in both receptions and receiving yards in his first two seasons in the league, but he's not yet strung together a 1,000-yard season. He was forced out of the team's playoff loss to Philadelphia early due to a dislocated shoulder, but Reed was able to avoid surgery and offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich said he "looks great" at voluntary practices.

Says he won't need surgery Reed said Monday that he won't need surgery on his dislocated shoulder, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.
Impact He missed the end of Sunday's playoff loss to the Eagles but should be ready for OTAs in the spring. It was a disappointing end to a disappointing season in which 72.3 percent of Reed's receiving yards came in the first nine games. He appeared well on his way to a 1,000-yard campaign for much of the season, before averaging 29.6 receiving yards and 3.6 targets after a Week 10 bye, ultimately finishing with a 55-857-6 receiving line and 20-163-1 on the ground. Reed offers an unusual combination of rushing contributions and big receiving plays from the slot, but it's hard to say if/when he'll progress beyond boom/bust-WR3 status for fantasy.

Suffers dislocated shoulder Sunday Reed said after Sunday's 22-10 wild-card loss to the Eagles that he sustained a dislocated shoulder in the third quarter of the contest, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Already down Christian Watson (knee) due to a torn ACL heading into the postseason, the Packers then lost Reed and Romeo Doubs (concussion) to injuries Sunday to further thin the receiver ranks. Before checking out the contest in the third quarter, Reed recorded four catches for 46 yards on four targets and brought back two punts for 26 yards. Reed could need surgery to address the dislocated shoulder, but he should be back to full health in advance of training camp in late July.
