Had ACL reconstruction surgery
Kinlaw (knee) needed ACL reconstruction surgery, David Lombardi of The Athletic of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Kinlaw was put on injured reserve Oct. 30 after having season-ending surgery on his knee, but little was known about the procedure. During surgery it was found that Kinlaw had chronic changes to his ACL and the best treatment was ACL reconstruction. The 49ers' 2020 first-round selection should be able to return in 2022.

Has season-ending surgery
Coach Kyle Shanahan revealed Friday that Kinlaw ended up getting season-ending surgery on his knee, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Kinlaw will finish his sophomore season with just eight tackles and no sacks over four appearances. On the bright side, Shanahan believes the surgery has successfully addressed the issue with Kinlaw's knee. The 2020 first-round pick will aim for a healthier and more productive 2022 campaign, while Kentavius Street will likely jump into a starting role along San Francisco's defensive line.

May need surgery
Kinlaw is in Los Angeles on Wednesday for knee evaluations and may need season-ending surgery, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Kinlaw has been dealing with a knee issue since training camp, but he has needed to miss only Week 1 and Week 7 so far. However, he has spent multiple weeks off and on the injury report between games. If Kinlaw opts for season-ending surgery, he'll end his sophomore campaign with eight tackles (one solo).

Out Week 7
Kinlaw (knee) will not play in Sunday's matchup with the Colts, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Kinlaw has been nursing a knee issue for nearly a month. The 49ers will opt to give him the week off in order for him to recover. However, he could potentially be a candidate for the IR, according to Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle. In Kinlaw's absence, look for Kentavius Street and Zach Kerr to see increased reps.

Questionable against Arizona
Kinlaw (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
Impact
Kinlaw was limited in practice this week as he continues to deal with a knee injury. However, he was able to play through the injury in each of the last two games, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him active against the Cardinals.

Kinlaw is active for Sunday's Week 2 contest against the Eagles.
Impact
Kinlaw was sidelined by a knee issue for Week 1 against Detroit. However, there was optimism surrounding his Week 2 status after he was able to log limited practices on both Thursday and Friday. He may not return to a full role initially, but he should bolster the 49ers' defensive line against the Eagles.

On track for Week 2
Kinlaw (knee), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Eagles, is expected to play, Ian Rapoport and Mike Garofolo of NFL Network report.
Impact
Kinlaw's knee injury kept him sidelined for the 49ers' Week 1 win over the Lions and prevented him from practicing Wednesday, but he logged a pair of limited sessions Thursday and Friday to take a questionable tag into the weekend. So long as Kinlaw's knee responds well to warmups, he looks like he'll be ready to make his 2021 debut Sunday, though the 49ers could monitor his snap count carefully. As a rookie last season, the South Carolina product recorded 33 stops, four pass breakups, 1.5 sacks and an interception across 14 games.

Kinlaw (knee) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Lions, according to Keiana Martin of the 49ers' official website.
Impact
Kinlaw was originally listed as doubtful due to a knee problem, and as expected, he's been ruled out for the season opener. His next chance to feature will come in Week 2 at Philadelphia, though everything would depend on how his recovery progresses.

Doubtful for Week 1
Kinlaw (knee) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Lions, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports.
Impact
It's unclear whether this knee injury is related to the knee swelling Kinlaw dealt with early in training camp. Either way, the starting defensive tackle is unlikely to dress for the season opener, which would open up an opportunity for Kentavius Street to take on a larger role.
