Staying in Houston Wayne signed a reserve/future contract with the Texans on Tuesday.

Impact Wayne spent most of the 2025 season on the Texans' practice squad and was elevated for Week 8 against the 49ers, when he played 35 offensive snaps and caught both of his targets for 20 yards. He'll be on Houston's 90-man roster when the offseason commences Feb. 9, which allows him to participate in OTAs and minicamp and make a good impression on the coaching staff before the start of training camp in July.

Impact Wayne was elevated for the first time this season ahead of Sunday's Week 8 matchup against San Francisco, as both Nico Collins (concussion) and Christian Kirk (hamstring) were unable to suit up. Wayne ended up logging 35 of the Texans' 80 offensive snaps (third-most among Houston's wideout corps) and caught both of his targets for 20 yards. Wayne's likelihood of being elevated again for Week 9 versus Denver could depend on whether Collins and/or Kirk is able to return to action.

He didn't see a target during the regular season but did draw two of them versus Kansas City, failing to catch either one.

Impact Wayne, who was recently added to the active roster, was on the field for 24 snaps, the most in his four games played during the regular season and playoffs. Impact Wayne was in Houston for a visit Tuesday and he must've impressed, earning himself an opportunity with the team's practice unit. The wide receiver was let go by the Texans in July with an injury settlement and he'll now return to the organization. With Nico Collins (hamstring) on injured reserve for at least the next four weeks, it's possible that Wayne could see an elevation to the active roster in the near future.
