Suiting up Monday Cook (groin) is active for Monday's contest against the Chargers, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Impact Cook sustained a groin injury Week 3 and didn't practice before he was ruled out for a Week 4 visit to Detroit. With a bit more time to prepare for Week 5, he was listed as a limited participant on all three injury reports before receiving a 'questionable' tag for this game. Now deemed available to the Saints, Cook may be in line for a significant target count with Michael Thomas (ankle/coach's decision) still sidelined. Cook will look to produce against an L.A. defense that has conceded 7.3 YPT and three touchdowns to tight ends this season.

Seemingly available for Monday Cook (groin) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Chargers, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Impact Cook participated in practice, albeit on limited fashion, all week so it seems likely the veteran should be able to return to the field Monday. That thought process was reinforced by Katherine Terrell of The Athletic, although fantasy mangers likely won't know for certain until closer to the 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff. Expect Adam Trautman and Josh Hill to fill in the void should Cook surprisingly be ruled unable to play.
OCTOBER 10, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Remains limited in practice Cook (groin) was a limited practice participant Friday, Rod Walker of The Times-Picayune reports.
Impact Cook has now logged back-to-back limited sessions after sitting out entirely last week. It's a sign of progress, but it doesn't necessarily mean he'll be ready for Monday's game against the Chargers. The Saints will release their final injury report Saturday.
OCTOBER 9, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Limited in return to practice Cook (groin) was a limited practice participant Thursday.
Impact Cook suffered a groin injury Week 3 against the Packers and didn't practice before the Saints ruled him out for this past Sunday's game at Detroit. Now back on the field, he'll set his sights on returning to action Monday versus the Chargers. To help his cause, Cook would do well to practice in full Friday and/or Saturday.

Ruled out for Week 4 Cook (groin) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Lions, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.
Impact Cook wasn't able to practice in any capacity this week, after exiting in the third quarter of a loss to the Packers on Sunday night. Rookie tight end Adam Trautman played each of the Saints' 12 offensive snaps in the fourth quarter of that game, finishing with two catches for 17 yards on two targets. Veteran tight end Josh Hill could also pick up some of the vacated snaps, but Trautman looks like the better bet to be involved in the passing game. The Saints also ruled out WR Michael Thomas (ankle), LG Andrus Peat (ankle) and three defensive starters, leaving them extremely shorthanded Sunday in Detroit. The only good news is that they'll have an extra day to recover before facing the Chargers on Monday Night Football in Week 5.

Misses another practice Cook (groin) isn't practicing Friday, Katherine Terrell of The Athletic reports.
Impact Cook was removed early from Sunday's loss to the Packers and now has been held out of practice all week. He doesn't seem likely to play in Sunday's game against the Lions, pending the final injury report.
OCTOBER 2, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Not practicing again Cook (groin) isn't participating in Thursday's practice, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Impact Since he's been sidelined for two practices in a row, Cook will likely need to practice on at least a limited basis Friday just to take a questionable designation into Sunday's game against the Lions. If Cook is forced to sit out the Week 4 matchup, Adam Trautman would take on an enhanced role as the Saints' top pass-catching tight end.

Missing Wednesday's practice Cook (groin) isn't practicing Wednesday, Katherine Terrell of The Athletic reports.
Impact Cook was forced out of Sunday's loss to the Packers due to the injury, and he doesn't appear to have made much progress in his recovery a few days later. When the Saints officially release Wednesday's practice report, an official word on the starting tight end's designation will be provided. For the time being, Adam Trautman is the only healthy tight end on New Orleans' roster.

Heads to locker room with limp Cook came up noticeably limping after a catch in the second half of Sunday's game against the Packers and was taken to the locker room, Amie Just of NOLA.com reports.
Impact It looked like a groin injury for Cook. His return should be considered questionable. Cook had two catches for 21 yards at the time of his exit.
SEPTEMBER 28, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Hauls in touchdown Cook caught two of five targets for 13 yards and a touchdown in Monday night's 34-24 loss to the Raiders.
Impact Cook extended New Orleans' first-half lead with a six-yard touchdown on third down during the second quarter. While the tight end used his body well to make that grab, Cook didn't haul in another pass until the Saints' final drive of the game. At that point, the team's struggles without Michael Thomas in the passing game were pronounced, with Tre'Quan Smith the only one to really capitalize on his absence outside of the always-involved Alvin Kamara. On the bright side, Cook has now reached 80 yards or scored a touchdown in both games thus far, offering encouragement ahead of Week 3's matchup against the Packers.
