Moves back to practice squad Ford reverted to the Dolphins' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Impact Ford played a considerable portion of the offensive workload in a win over New England, garnering 54 of 73 snaps while pulling in all three of his targets for 18 yards. Following a mid-season stint with the Patriots, Week 15 marked Ford's first Dolphins appearance since Nov. 1.

Goes for 18 yards against Patriots Ford reeled in all three of his targets for 18 yards during Sunday's 22-12 won over the Patriots.
Impact Ford had a brief stint with the Patriots back in November, so his matchup on Sunday may technically have qualified as a "revenge game." With DeVante Parker (hamstring) and Jakeem Grant (hamstring) both absent last weekend, and Preston Williams (foot) still on IR, Ford was afforded an opportunity to handle a season-high 54 offensive snaps (74 percent).

Dolphins eliminate Patriots from playoff race with 22-12 win

The Miami Dolphins’ grinding ground game has sent the New England Patriots into full retreat and out of the playoff picture for the first time in 12 years
DECEMBER 20, 2020 • Associated Press
Joins active roster The Dolphins elevated Ford from the practice squad for Sunday's game against the Patriots, Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post reports.
Impact Ford will bring an ounce of familiarity with New England's scheme into the mix Sunday, as he briefly spent time there after being traded by the Dolphins for a late-round pick back in November. The young receiver then came full circle after being cut by the Patriots, as the Dolphins picked him back up. If DeVante Parker (hamstring) and/or Jakeem Grant (hamstring) are limited or forced to miss time Sunday, Ford could play a notable role on offense.

Let go by New England Ford was waived by the Patriots on Saturday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Impact The 24-year-old was acquired from the Dolphins in early November but never played a snap with the Patriots. Ford will be a candidate for the practice squad if he clears waivers.

Won't suit up against Houston Ford (coach's decision) is inactive for Week 11, Erik Scalavino of the Patriots' official site reports.
Impact Ford was eligible to play Week 10 against the Ravens on Sunday Night Football, but he ultimately did not log a single offensive or special-teams snap during the 23-17 win. New England decided to bring six receivers onto its active roster for a Week 11 road trip to Houston, but the 24-year-old finds himself on the outside looking in.

Not part of game plan in Week 10 Ford didn't log a snap in Sunday's 23-17 win over the Ravens.
Impact Ford, who was acquired from the Dolphins on Nov. 3, figures to find his way into his new team's wide receiver rotation (which also includes Jakobi Meyers, N'Keal Harry and Damiere Byrd) in the coming weeks, but until that happens, he's off the fantasy radar.

Cleared for Week 10 Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said Tuesday that Ford has been cleared to return from the reserve/Commissioner Exempt List, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Impact After being acquired from the Dolphins on Nov. 3, Ford was ineligible to play in the Patriots' Week 9 win over the Jets while he waited to clear COVID-19 intake testing with his new team. Now that Ford has been formally added to the roster, he'll add some much-needed depth to a Patriots wideout corps that's lacking in dependable options. Quarterback Cam Newton seems to have established a rapport with Jakobi Meyers (22 receptions for 287 yards over last three games), but with Julian Edelman (knee) on injured reserve and the status of N'Keal Harry (concussion) uncertain, Ford could quickly earn a key role in the team's receiver rotation.

Won't play Week 9 Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said Wednesday that Ford won't be available to play in Monday's game against the Jets while the receiver waits to clear COVID-19 protocols, Mike...
Impact Acquired from the Dolphins prior to Tuesday's trade deadline, Ford will reside on the Reserve/Commissioner Exempt List and won't count against the Patriots' 53-man roster for Week 9. Assuming Ford is able to pass his intake testing without incident, he should be ready to participate in the Patriots' first Week 10 practice next Wednesday before making his team debut Nov. 15 against Baltimore. Ford had played less than 40 percent of the offensive snaps in his final three games with the Dolphins, but he should have a clearer path to playing time in New England with top slot man Julian Edelman (knee) out indefinitely.

Picked up by Pats The Dolphins dealt Ford to the Patriots on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact Primarily a slot receiver, Ford was utilized regularly through the first four games of the season, seeing between 44 and 74 percent of the snaps on offense. His workload has whittled down to 32-36 percent of those plays over the last three contests, resulting in three catches (on three targets) for 33 yards. With the move to New England, Ford could play a decent role right away for a receiving corps that's currently composed of N'Keal Harry (concussion), Damiere Byrd, Jakobi Meyers and Gunner Olszewski, assuming he gets through the COVID-19 protocols in time for Monday's road outing against the Jets.
NOVEMBER 3, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Shut out in catches department Ford did not receive a single target during Sunday's 24-0 win against the Jets.
Impact Ford's 18 offensive snaps were a season low, but his involvement may have faded over the course of the game as Miami carried a three-possession lead into halftime. The 2017 seventh-round pick averaged 3.4 catches and 38.4 receiving yards per game Weeks 1 through 5, with his breakout performance coming by way of a seven-catch, 76-yard outing Sept. 20 against Buffalo. Emerging from the Week 7 bye, Ford will be catching passes from rookie Tua Tagovailoa in a matchup against the Rams' fourth-ranked pass defense.
