Texans fall apart in 2nd half of 25-22 loss to New England

The Houston Texans played well early Sunday to take a lead over the New England Patriots
OCTOBER 10, 2021 • Associated Press
Leads way in passing game Henry recorded six receptions on eight targets for 75 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over the Texans.
Impact Henry had his best game as a Patriot and also scored for the second consecutive week. He managed long receptions of 21 and 16 yards and also found the end zone on a catch from 13 yards away. Despite the encouraging results, Sunday's effort marked the first time that Henry topped 50 yards on the campaign. Henry is likely to continue to see limited volume as the Patriots spread targets to a variety of pass-catchers, including Jakobi Meyers, Nelson Agholor, Jonnu Smith and Kendrick Bourne.

FANTASY PLAYS: Players to start and sit for NFL Week 5

The Carolina Panthers’ defense started the season hot, but were a little less scary last week against Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys
OCTOBER 7, 2021 • Associated Press
Hits pay dirt on SNF Henry had four receptions (five targets) for 32 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 19-17 loss to Tampa Bay.
Impact Henry was finally able to record a touchdown after failing in the first three attempts with his new club. Fellow tight end Jonnu Smith logged three catches for 14 yards and a score in Mac Jones' first multi-touchdown game this year. Henry remains the more appealing option based on playing time, but both tight ends eat into each other's production and put a low ceiling on their respective fantasy values. The Texans are next on the docket for the Patriots' tight end duo.

Catches five passes in Week 3 Henry was on the field for 52 of a possible 72 snaps on offense in Sunday's 28-13 loss to the Saints en route to catching five of his season-high six targets for 36 yards, Mike Rei...
Impact Meanwhile, fellow tight end Jonnu Smith had a forgettable day, hauling in just one of his six targets (also a season high) for four yards while logging 30 snaps. Through New England's first three games, both players have recorded 10 catches and zero TDs while operating in a timeshare that caps their respective weekly fantasy ceilings.

FANTASY PLAYS: Players to start and sit for NFL Week 3

Justin Herbert has yet to put up a big fantasy outing, but it could be on the way
SEPTEMBER 23, 2021 • Associated Press
Catches two passes in Week 2 Henry logged 47 of a possible 58 snaps on offense in Sunday's 25-6 win over the Jets, en route to catching two of his four targets for 42 yards, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Meanwhile, fellow tight end Jonnu Smith was on the field for 29 snaps and hauled in four of his five targets for 28 yards. In Week 1, Henry (54 snaps) and Smith (55 snaps) saw virtually identical workloads, but it's possible that Smith's decrease in action versus the Jets was related to the hip issue that had him listed as questionable for the contest. In any case, as long as a timeshare is in play, the duo of Henry and Smith will continue to cap each other's weekly fantasy ceiling.

Catches three passes in Week 1 Henry was on the field for 54 of a possible 75 snaps on offense in Sunday's 17-16 loss to the Dolphins, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Meanwhile, Jonnu Smith logged 55 snaps, as the Patriots predictably featured their share of two-TE sets Week 1. In the process, Henry hauled in all three of his targets for 31 yards, while Smith ended up catching all five of his targets for 42 yards, while fumbling once (recovered). As long as both players are available, their weekly target volume will fluctuate, but on the plus side the duo does seem destined for steady playing time this season.

Not listed on Week 1 injury report Henry (shoulder) isn't listed on the Patriots' Week 1 injury report.
Impact With that, Henry is in line to make his debut with the Patriots in Sunday's season opener against the Dolphins. In a passing attack helmed by rookie QB Mac Jones, Henry is being counted on to combine with fellow newcomer Jonnu Smith to form a potent one-two pass-catching punch, with the team expected to roll out plenty of multi-tight end formations featuring the duo.

Expects to play in Week 1 Henry (shoulder) indicated Monday that he expects to play against the Dolphins in Sunday's regular-season opener, Zack Cox of NESN.com reports.
Impact Henry is bouncing back from a shoulder injury that he suffered during practice Aug. 8, but it appears as though he's trending toward suiting up Week 1, barring any setbacks. Added clarity with regard to his status should arrive no later than Wednesday, when the Patriots submit their first practice/injury report of the 2021 season. Once cleared to play, Henry is slated to combine with fellow newcomer Jonnu Smith to form a potent one-two punch in a New England offense that figures to roll out plenty of multi-tight end formations, with rookie QB Mac Jones under center for the team.

Won't play Sunday Henry (shoulder) didn't suit up for Sunday's preseason finale versus the Giants, Jeff Howe of The Athletic reports.
Impact Henry has been managing a shoulder injury and has been limited in practice, so this comes as no surprise. The tight end will now shift his focus to readying for Week 1 action, when he'll look to combine with fellow free-agent acquisition Jonnu Smith to form a potent 1-2 punch at a position that wasn't very productive for the Patriots in 2020.

Does 7-on-7 work Henry (shoulder) participated in 7-on-7 drills during Wednesday's practice, Jeff Howe of The Athletic reports.
Impact While Henry didn't see any 11-on-11 work, his participation in some capacity Wednesday suggests that he's on track to be ready to go in advance of Week 1. The Patriots, however, could well elect to err on the side of caution with the tight end by holding him out of Sunday's preseason finale against the Giants. Henry and fellow newcomer Jonnu Smith are in line to work in tandem as a potent one-two punch in a New England attack that figures to roll out plenty of multi-tight end formations this coming season.

Not expected to play Thursday Henry (shoulder) isn't expected to play in Thursday's preseason game against the Eagles, Andrew Callahan of Boston Herald reports.
Impact The same applies to fellow TEs Jonnu Smith (ankle) and Matt LaCosse, which should result in Devin Asiasi being busy Thursday night. Henry has been making progress since suffering a shoulder injury earlier this month, but it's unclear if he'll make his game debut with the Patriots before Week 1 of the regular season.

Travels with team Henry made the trip to Philadelphia for joint practices with the Eagles this week, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Impact A report last Monday suggested Henry would miss multiple weeks, but he was spotted at Sunday's practice and apparently now has a chance to participate in joint sessions with the Eagles. Meanwhile, fellow Patriots tight end Jonnu Smith figures to miss at least a day or two after spraining his ankle Sunday.
