Impact Bryant's hamstring injury kept him from practicing in any capacity this week. The undrafted rookie will work to get healthy enough to face Green Bay in Week 2, but even when Bryant does retake the field he'll likely play only a marginal role behind T.J. Hockenson and Jesse James.

Even if he demonstrates enough progress at Friday's practice to gain clearance for the season opener, Bryant is unlikely to see many reps on offense behind the Lions' top two tight ends, T.J. Hockenson and Jesse James.

Impact Bryant likely will undergo further evaluation before the nature and severity of his injury are disclosed. The undrafted rookie out of Washington looked to be competing for the No. 3 tight end role behind T.J. Hockenson and Jesse James prior being injured. If Bryant is able to avoid missing much time, he could still have a fair shot at making the final roster.
