INJURIES

Looking to practice this week Coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Olsen (foot) is "challenging" to practice this week, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports.
Impact Olsen has missed three games since suffering a ruptured plantar fascia in his left foot Week 10, meaning he's eligible to come back from IR this week. Once he returns to practice, it will open his 21-day window to be activated from IR. Carroll said Olsen is "very positive and upbeat" about the prospect of getting back on the field soon, and there seems to be a good chance that the veteran tight end returns before the end of the regular season. In the meantime, Will Dissly and Jacob Hollister will continue to handle the bulk of the team's tight end reps.

Hopeful to return for playoffs Olsen (foot) is intent on returning to "finish this year," Pat Leonard of the New York Daily Newsreports.
Impact After suffering a non-contact injury to his left foot during Week 12's win against the Cardinals, Olsen has been projected to miss up to eight weeks. This is not the first time the 35-year-old has had a foot injury re-emerge, but the veteran tight end remains adamant that he'll make a possible 2020 return. For the immediate future, Jacob Hollister, who caught two of his five targets during Monday's win over the Eagles, and Will Dissly will continue to take the majority of the snaps at tight end.

Seattle's defense coming around just in time for stretch run

Justifiably maligned for the first half of the season, something has happened to the Seattle Seahawks defense in the past three weeks

Coach eyeing 4-to-6-week timeline Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said Tuesday that he's hopeful Olsen (foot) will be ready to return from injured reserve in 4-to-6 weeks, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR S...
Impact Carroll acknowledged that 4-to-6 weeks could be "on the early end" of a projected return, as Ian Rapoport of NFL Network previously reported that ruptured plantar fascia Olsen sustained to his left foot in the Seahawks' 28-21 win over the Cardinals on Nov. 19 could sideline the tight end for 6-to-8 weeks. Regardless, the Seahawks aren't abandoning hope of Olsen playing again this season, which could be the 35-year-old's last in the NFL. In the meantime, Seattle is expected to turn to Will Dissly and Jacob Hollister to split most of the work at tight end.

Lands on IR The Seahawks placed Olsen (foot) on injured reserve Monday, Logan Reardon of the team's official site reports.
Impact Olsen suffered a fascia tear in his left foot during last Thursday's win over the Cardinals, the severity of which is expected to sideline him 6-to-8 weeks. As such, it appears as though a best-case scenario for the veteran tight end could allow him to return late in the regular season or during the playoffs. In the meantime, Will Dissly and Jacob Hollister are expected to split Seattle's reps at tight end.

Likely out 6-to-8 weeks Olsen (foot), who suffered a ruptured plantar fascia to his left foot in Thursday's 28-21 win over the Cardinals, is expected to miss about six weeks to two months, Ian Rapoport of...
Impact Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll wasn't willing to speculate on an initial timeline for Olsen's return after the veteran exited late in Thursday's win, but as anticipated, the 35-year-old tight end looks like he'll be forced to miss several games as a result of the injury. Foot concerns are nothing new for Olsen; he fractured his right foot in 2018 and ruptured the plantar fascia in the same foot later that same season before undergoing surgery. Olsen is fortunate in the sense that his latest injury is to the opposite foot, but he sounds like he'll need some extended time off for rest and rehab before potentially gearing up for a return late in the regular season or during the playoffs. While Olsen is sidelined, Will Dissly and Jacob Hollister are expected to handle most of the reps at tight end.

Diagnosed with fascia tear Coach Pete Carroll said Thursday that Olsen sustained a fascia tear injury in his left foot, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports.
Impact Carroll also said that Olsen's injury could be a rupture, but that he could have a shot at "a quick recovery." The veteran tight end missed seven games due to a similar issue in his left foot back with the Panthers in 2018. It remains to be seen how much time Olsen will miss this time around, or even whether he could return this season, but for the time being the Seahawks will roll with Will Dissly and Jacob Hollister at tight end.

Forced out with foot injury Olsen will not return to Thursday's game against the Cardinals due to a foot injury, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports.
Impact Olsen suffered the non-contact injury midway through the fourth quarter, and he immediately signaled for medical attention. The veteran tight end was then carted to the locker room after being briefly examined in the medical tent. In Olsen's stead, Will Dissly and Jacob Hollister will handle Seattle's tight end duties. He had two catches for 20 yards before being forced out Thursday.
NOVEMBER 20, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Suffers non-contact injury Olsen suffered a non-contact apparent left leg injury during the fourth quarter of Thursday's game against the Cardinals, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
Impact Olsen appeared to injure his lower left leg, ankle or calf, and he had to receive support from trainers in order to limp off the field. The veteran tight end then immediately went into the injury tent on the sideline. Will Dissly and Jacob Hollister are Seattle's only remaining active tight ends.

Shakes injury, as expected Olsen (foot) practiced without limitations Tuesday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Impact Olsen was limited during the first practice of the week, which has been the case almost all season, but he's back to full speed ahead of Thursday's clash against the Cardinals. The 35-year-old tight end's role has fluctuated this season, but he led Seattle tight ends in snap share (72 percent) and targets (four) in last week's loss to the Rams. Curiously, he has logged exactly half of his snaps from the slot this season, so perhaps he could be utilized more in the offense this week if Tyler Lockett (knee) sits out.
NOVEMBER 18, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Reappears on injury report Olsen (foot) is listed as a limited participant on Monday's injury report, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports.
Impact Olsen regularly has popped up with a foot injury on Seattle's first practice of the week this season, but he has yet to miss a single game. Barring any setbacks in his practice activity, there's no reason to believe that the veteran tight end is in danger of missing Thursday's divisional contest against the Cardinals.
NOVEMBER 16, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Leads tight ends once again Olsen caught two of four targets for 33 yards in Sunday's 23-16 loss to the Rams.
Impact After finishing second in snap share among Seattle tight ends for two straight weeks, Olsen was back in charge, handling 48 of 67 snaps (72 percent) and finishing tied for second on the team in targets. He wasn't very productive, but both of his catches went for more than 10 yards and a first down on a day in which Russell Wilson wasn't in peak form. While he was back on top this week, keep in mind that Olsen, Will Dissly and Jacob Hollister have all led the Seahawks in snap share in one of the past three games, making all three risky fantasy options in any given week.
