Fumbles again in blowout loss Elliott carries the ball 10 times for 32 yards and caught one of three targets for seven yards in Thursday's 41-16 loss to Washington, while also losing a fumble.
Impact It's the sixth fumble in 11 games for Elliott, and the Cowboys have lost possession of five of them, including his giveaway on the second play of the second half Thursday that helped kill any chance Dallas had of keeping the game close. The fifth-year RB is still (barely) on pace for another 1,000-yard campaign, but Elliott just isn't finding the same running room this season behind a Cowboys offensive line gutted by injuries. That's obviously a sizable workload, but it was also the first time all season where Elliott played less than three-quarters of the snaps in a game that wasn't a blowout. While he may not be 100 percent healthy, Elliott seemingly expects to play in Sunday's game at Minnesota. It remains to be seen if/how the Cowboys list him on their Week 11 injury report.

Impact Elliott's availability for Week 9 has wavered since the Cowboys deemed him questionable for this contest due to a sore hamstring, but a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network from early Sunday had the running back trending upward again after he put in a "good" workout Saturday. After doing the same during a pregame warmup Sunday, Elliott is available but may have more of a split of the backfield work than normal with his primary backup Tony Pollard, according to Todd Archer of ESPN.com. Plus, a tough matchup against Pittsburgh's fifth-ranked run defense (96.9 yards per game) makes Elliott difficult to trust at less than 100 percent.
