Will be available Sunday
Griffen (concussion) will play Sunday against Seattle, according to Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
Impact
Griffen suffered the concussion last week in a car accident and didn't feature in Week 2 against the Cardinals, but he wasn't listed on the injury report throughout the week and has recovered well enough to be available for Sunday's matchup. He played 41 percent of the defensive snaps in Week 1 against the Bengals.

Misses practice with concussion
Griffen (concussion) didn't practice Thursday.
Impact
Griffen wasn't on the injury report Wednesday, so he likely picked up the injury in practice. If he's placed in the league's concussion protocol, Griffen will need to clear it prior to Sunday's road tilt in Arizona to be eligible to suit up.

Has QB hit in return to Vikings
Griffen had a QB hit and QB hurry, according to Pro Football Focus, but no tackles in Sunday's overtime loss at Cincinnati.
Impact
Griffen played on 28 of the defense's 69 snaps as he'll be used primarily on passing downs. While he may have less playing time than in his prime, he still looks capable of having an impact in the pass rush.

Back in Minnesota
The Vikings re-signed Griffen on Thursday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Impact
After spending the first 10 years of his career with Minnesota, Griffen split time between Dallas and Detroit last season, totaling 33 tackles and six sacks in 14 games. The tackle count matched his low for a campaign since 2013, and he only failed to hit six sacks once since that season. Griffen bided his time this offseason and finally reunited with the Vikings on Aug. 23, but he also was among the cuts the team made to get down to 53 players Tuesday. After two days (officially) as a free agent, Griffen finds himself employed and in a rotation of pass rushers with Danielle Hunter, Stephen Weatherly and D.J. Wonnum.

Six sacks in 2020
Griffen recorded 33 tackles, six sacks and four pass breakups over 14 games in 2020.
Impact
Griffen played in seven games for Dallas before being traded to Detroit midseason. The 33-year-old provided a spark to a dormant Lions pass rush and ultimately put up respectable numbers in limited playing time. While Griffen is probably past the point in his career when he can be relied upon as an every-down starter, the former Viking at least showed he has something left in the tank this year despite his advanced age. Griffen will now enter the offseason as an unrestricted free agent who shouldn't be hurting for suitors when the new league year starts up in March.
