Evan Hull - NFL News, Rumors, & Updates

Signs with Arizona's active roster The Cardinals signed Hull from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Impact Hull has been signed to continue to fulfill the No. 3 running back role opened by the absence of Jeremiyah Love (ankle). Tyler Allgeier and Bam Knight should continue to see all of the offensive action in Week 7 against the Broncos, with Hull providing additional depth if needed.

Impact Hull spent part of training camp with Houston before being released in early August. He was claimed by Arizona shortly thereafter and impressed during the preseason slate, rushing 38 times for 189 yards and two touchdowns while catching all four of his targets for 29 yards over four games. Hull will now provide depth on the practice squad and could see time on the 53-man roster at some point if the Cardinals experience injuries in the backfield.

Claimed by Arizona The Cardinals claimed Hull off waivers Monday, Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Impact Hull was waived by the Texans on Sunday and now finds a new home in Arizona. The running back participated in six 2025 regular-season games, rushing 19 times for 48 yards. The addition of Hull is a perplexing move for a Cardinals team that already has a rushing room consisting of Jeremiyah Love, Tyler Allgeier, James Connor (foot) and Trey Benson (knee).

Let go by Houston The Texans waived Hull on Sunday.

Impact Hull is headed to waivers less than three months after singing with Houston. The 24-year-old rushed for 48 yards on 19 carries across six games with the Saints and will now look to find a new opportunity with another team.

AUGUST 2 • ROTOWIRE

Signs with Houston The Texans signed Hull on Monday.

Impact Hull played in six games for the Saints during the 2025 season, logging 19 rush attempts for 48 yards. The running back also produced some special teams value in his outings, adding 179 yards as a kick returner. Rushing depth will be key for a Texans offense that just reworked the offensive line, so any depth additions to solidify the room will help them develop the consistent rushing attack they were missing in 2025.

Let go by Saints The Saints waived Hull on Monday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.

Impact Hull played in six games for the Saints during the 2025 season due to the absence of Alvin Kamara. He rushed for 48 yards over 19 attempts and caught his sole target for six yards. The 2023 fifth-round pick will now be subject to waivers, only becoming a free agent if he remains unclaimed for 24 hours.

Logs two carries Week 18 Hull totaled two rushes for 11 yards during Sunday's 19-17 defeat against the Falcons.

Impact Hull once again played second fiddle behind Audric Estime, who tallied 21 carries for 63 yards. The Saints were without their top three running backs over the final three weeks of the regular season, as Alvin Kamara (knee) remained inactive while Kendre Miller (knee) and Devin Neal (hamstring) finished the year on IR. Hull tallied just nine carries over this span, finishing the 2025 campaign with 19 rushing attempts for 48 yards over six appearances. He joined the Saints' practice squad in late October before being signed to the active roster Nov. 25.

JANUARY 5 • ROTOWIRE

Logs two rushes in win Hull tallied two carries for three yards during Sunday's 34-26 victory versus Tennessee.

Impact Hull saw sparse usage for the fifth week in a row, while fellow backup running back Audric Estime saw an increased workload with a team-high 14 carries for 94 yards. These two have filled in for the Saints' depleted backfield with Devin Neal (hamstring) and Kendre Miller (knee) on IR while RB1 Alvin Kamara (knee) is still sidelined. The 25-year-old Hull has now totaled 17 carries for 36 yards across five appearances this season. He should once again see minimal usage in New Orleans' regular-season finale versus Atlanta.

Splits backup RB duties Hull had five rushes for three yards during Sunday's 29-6 victory versus the Jets.

Impact Hull split carries with fellow backup running back Audric Estime, who had five carries for 19 yards, along with four receptions (on five targets). RB1 Alvin Kamara (knee/ankle) and Devin Neal (hamstring) were both inactive, but Taysom Hill ultimately served as the team's leading rusher with 12 carries for 42 yards and four catches (on six targets). Hull will likely be limited going forward, even if Kamara and Neal remain sidelined Week 17 versus Tennessee.

Four touches as fellow RB gets hurt Hull rushed four times for 12 yards and wasn't targeted in Sunday's 20-17 win over the Panthers.

Impact Hull and Audric Estime were the only options remaining at running back after Devin Neal (hamstring) exited in the second quarter. Estime finished with 50 scrimmage yards on three carries and three targets. Hull and Estime would likely share backfield work in Week 16 against the Jets if the Saints don't get Neal or Alvin Kamara (knee/ankle) back.

DECEMBER 15, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Records two touches in Tampa Bay Hull notched one carry for four yards and reeled in his only target for six yards during Sunday's 24-20 victory against the Buccaneers.

Impact With Alvin Kamara out for the second game in a row, Hull once again saw the field in the Saints' injury-riddled running-back room. This week, Devin Neal took on a bigger role as the RB1 with 19 carries, and fellow backup Audric Estime saw more run with three carries compared to zero in the previous game. Hull has now accumulated seven rushing attempts in four career games across his first three seasons. Even if the Saints are hit with more injuries at running back, it's unlikely that Hull will be their first choice to help fill the void. Fantasy owners should expect much out of him during the Week 15 contest versus Carolina.

DECEMBER 9, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Logs five carries in NOLA debut Hull tallied five carries for 15 yards during Sunday's 21-17 loss versus Miami.

Impact Alvin Kamara was inactive with an MCL sprain suffered last week, leaving Hull, Devin Neal and Audric Estime as the Saints' three active running backs. Neal handled the bulk of the rushing workload with 14 carries while playing 82 percent of offensive snaps. Meanwhile, Hull played just 18 percent of offensive snaps while Estime never saw the field. Hull appears set to be the RB2 so long as Kamara remains out, but his production probably won't serve much purpose in terms of fantasy value. New Orleans will next play versus Tampa Bay on Sunday, Dec. 7th.

Joins 53-man roster The Saints signed Hull off the practice squad Tuesday.

Impact With Alvin Kamara dealing with a knee injury, Hull will give the Saints some backfield depth behind rookie Devin Neal and Audric Estime. Hull has appeared in two career regular-season games, rushing one time for one yard.

Signs with New Orleans Hull signed with the Saints' practice squad Wednesday, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports.

Impact The 25-year-old running back was a fifth-round pick in the 2023 Draft by the Colts but has appeared in just two career regular-season contests. With Kendre Miller (knee) done for the season, Hull provides the Saints organizational depth.

Let go by Steelers Pittsburgh cut Hull on Friday, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.

Impact Hull inked a reserve/future contract with the Steelers back in January, but despite spending the entire offseason with the team he couldn't secure a spot on the initial 53-man roster. He may be a candidate to resurface on the practice squad, however.

AUGUST 22, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Limited work in preseason opener Hull rushed six times for seven yards while securing one of three targets for six yards during Saturday's 31-25 preseason win over Jacksonville.

Impact Hull spent most of the past two seasons on the Colts' practice squad but signed a reserve/future contract with Pittsburgh in January. He didn't make much of an impact in Saturday's preseason opener, and it seems most likely that he's simply competing for a spot on the Steelers' practice squad ahead of the regular season.
