Elevated for Thursday Fountain was elevated to the Chiefs' active roster from the practice squad for Thursday's game against the Chargers, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports.
Impact Fountain will provide Kansas City with some receiving depth Thursday while Josh Gordon (undisclosed) is on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Fountain appeared in one game earlier this season and primarily played special teams.

Reverts to practice squad Fountain has reverted back to the Chiefs' practice squad per the NFL's transaction report.
Impact Fountain was added to the team's active roster ahead of Sunday's victory over the Cowboys. He only saw the field for two offensive snaps, but did log 18 on special teams, recording one tackle in the process.

Added to active roster Fountain was elevated from the Chiefs' practice squad ahead of Sunday's game against the Cowboys.
Impact Fountain will join the active roster as a COVID replacement after Marcus Kemp (undisclosed) was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday. The 25-year-old Fountain hasn't yet made his regular-season debut in 2021.

Inactive for Week 4 Fountain (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's contest against the Eagles, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Fountain signed a one-year contract with the Chiefs this offseason, but he has yet to be active for a game during the 2021 campaign. The 25-year-old appeared in five contests for the Colts last season and caught two of his three targets for 23 yards.

Signs one-year deal with KC Fountain signed a one-year contract with the Chiefs on Monday, his agent reports.
Impact Fountain appeared in five games with the Colts last season, catching two of three targets for 23 yards. He'll be fighting an uphill battle to secure a spot on the Chiefs' roster but could find some success if he makes it with Patrick Mahomes throwing him the ball.
MAY 17, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Sent down to practice squad Fountain reverted to the Colts' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Impact Fountain fielded 10 of 68 offensive snaps for Indianapolis during a 24-10 loss to the Ravens on Sunday, but he was unable to add to his season total of two receptions and 23 receiving yards. The Northern Iowa product has been held without a catch in four of his five appearances this season while fielding an average of 12.8 offensive snaps per contest.

Elevated to active roster Fountain was elevated to the Colts' active roster Saturday,
Impact Fountain was just signed to the Colts' practice squad earlier in the week. He will now be active as a depth receiver in Sunday's matchup with the Ravens. However, T.Y. Hilton (groin) is doubtful and Marcus Johnson (knee) is questionable, so Fountain could potentially be in line for some snaps.

Latches onto practice squad The Colts signed Fountain to the practice squad Tuesday.
Impact The Colts waived Fountain last Saturday, but the third-year receiver cleared waivers and will sign with the practice squad. The 24-year-old has suited up in four games with the Colts this season and caught two of three targets for 23 yards. Fountain's a candidate to be elevated to the active roster this week depending on how T.Y. Hilton (groin) and Ashton Dulin (knee) progress in their respective recoveries.

Waived by Indy Fountain was waived by the Colts on Saturday.
Impact Fountain played 49 offensive snaps over the course of Weeks 2 through 4, essentially acting as a depth option at wideout. There's a chance he could return to the team's practice squad if he passes through waivers.

Healthy scratch vs. CIN Fountain (coach's decision) is inactive Week 6 against the Bengals.
Impact Despite opportunity knocking in Indy due to multiple injuries at the wide receiver position, Fountain has been unable to capitalize. He saw the field for a total of 49 snaps from Weeks 2 through 4, but has now been a healthy scratch in back-to-back weeks. It appears the likes of Marcus Johnson, Ashton Dulin and DeMichael Harris have leapfrogged Fountain in the race for the No. 3 WR spot.
OCTOBER 18, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Mininal role Sunday Fountain had just one target and did not have a reception in Sunday's win at Chicago. He played on 15 of the offense's 72 snaps.
Impact Meanwhile, Marcus Johnson played on 34 snaps and essentially overtook Fountain and Ashton Dulin as the No. 3 receiver even though he was just recently added to the active roster. Johnson had just one target, however, as it looks like the Colts will utilize tight ends in the passing game more than third and fourth receivers after injuries to Michael Pittman and Parris Campbell.

Could see expanded role Fountain had two receptions for 23 yards on two targets in Sunday's 36-7 win over the Jets.
Impact Fountain played 19 snaps on offense, which were more than Ashton Dulin (12 snaps) as he was pressed into duty with Michael Pittman suffering a leg injury during the game. With Pittman out after surgery, Fountain could emerge as the third receiver and get significant playing time this week against the Bears. However, it's not clear who will emerge as the No. 3 receiver among Fountain, Ashton Dulin and rookie Dezmon Patmon. It's also possible the Colts could utilize more two-TE sets with Mo Alie-Cox becoming a major factor in the passing game.

Bumps to active roster The Colts promoted Fountain from the practice squad to the active roster Wednesday.
Impact Fountain's elevation to the 53-man roster coincides with Marlon Mack (Achilles) being placed on IR. The 2018 fifth-round pick has battled injuries in his career, but he'll now have another depth opportunity.
SEPTEMBER 16, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Let go by Colts Fountain was waived by the Colts on Saturday, Stephen Holder of The Athletic reports.
Impact The 2018 fifth-rounder never could get healthy enough to compete for a depth role, fracturing his ankle last season when it appeared he could potentially make the team's initial 53-man roster. The Colts did offer Fountain an exclusive rights tender this past offseason so it's obvious they value his services at least somewhat. Don't be surprised to see Fountain return to the Colts' practice squad should he pass through waivers.
SEPTEMBER 5, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Back to full health Fountain (ankle) is fully healthy and has resumed practicing daily, Stephen Holder of The Athletic reports.
Impact Fountain toughed through a particularly difficult rehab process, per Holder, and he required three surgeries before his ankle could fully heal. The 2018 fifth-round pick now stands to spend camp working for a reserve role in Indianapolis' relatively deep receiver corps, so Marcus Johnson (undisclosed), Dezmon Patmon and Ashton Dulin will serve as his primary competition.
