Trades unlikely to save sub-.500 Rams after latest debacle
The brightest side of the Los Angeles Rams’ latest blowout loss is that they don’t have to play the San Francisco 49ers again this season

Just six touches in loss
Henderson (illness) rushed four times for 16 yards and hauled in both of his targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 31-14 loss to the 49ers.
Impact
Henderson was able to suit up after dealing with an illness during practice this week. The 25-year-old was expected to lead a depleted Rams backfield, but he finished with less touches than Ronnie Rivers (15) and just one more than Malcolm Brown (5/10/0). With Cam Akers (personal) sidelined and seeking a trade, the Rams' running back situation is one best left alone until someone steps up and grabs the vacant lead role. For now, we have to consider Henderson as one part of an unappealing committee situation heading into a matchup against Tampa Bay next Sunday.

Cleared from injury report
Henderson (illness) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Henderson was sick earlier in the week, missing practice Wednesday and returning as a limited participant Thursday. He turned in a full practice Friday, setting him up to lead the Rams backfield against a tough 49ers defense this Sunday. With Cam Akers (personal) held out again and facing an uncertain future, the Rams are likely to rely on Henderson as their starter and Malcolm Brown as the No. 2 back. There has been talk of the team trading away Akers and seeking a replacement, but that won't interfere with Henderson's Week 8 workload.

Back at practice Thursday
Henderson (illness) returned to practice Thursday, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Absent Wednesday due to an illness, Henderson was able to mix back into drills in some capacity one day later, which bodes well for his availability as the Rams prepare for Sunday's matchup with the 49ers. His activity level Thursday will reveal where his health stands at the moment.

Dealing with illness
Henderson didn't practice Wednesday due to an illness, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Henderson wasn't spotted on the field for the media-access portion of Wednesday's session, and the reason for his absence now is known. With Cam Akers (personal) also not slated to practice this week, Malcolm Brown was the only running back on the active roster taking part, while Kyren Williams (ankle) joined him after the Rams designated him for return from IR on Wednesday. Henderson will have two more days to return to drills before the team potentially gives him a designation for Sunday's game against the 49ers.

Not seen at practice
Henderson isn't on the field for the open portion of Wednesday's practice, Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Impact
An injury coming out of the bye week would be the latest interesting development in a Rams backfield that remains without Cam Akers (personal) and saw rookie Kyren Williams (ankle) designated Wednesday to return from injured reserve. It's possible Henderson is simply being rested or dealing with a minor injury; the Wednesday injury report should provide some idea once the Rams are finished practicing.

Finds end zone in win
Henderson carried the ball 12 times for 43 yards and a touchdown and caught two of three targets for nine yards in Sunday's 24-10 win over the Panthers.
Impact
With Cam Akers (personal) seemingly on his way out of town, Henderson sits unchallenged at the top of the Rams' depth chart, but his first start as the clear No. 1 was unproductive until he punched in a two-yard score midway through the fourth quarter to ice the game. The team's offensive line issues will cap his upside, but Henderson should at least see steady touch volume on the other side of the Rams' Week 7 bye.

Leading role likely awaits
Henderson is expected to serve as the Rams' lead back Sunday against the Panthers with Cam Akers (personal) having been ruled out for the Week 6 game, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com rep...
Impact
Head coach Sean McVay declined to go in specifics regarding why Akers didn't practice with the team Thursday or Friday, nor did McVay give a direct answer regarding Akers' status with the team moving forward. At least for Week 6, Akers' absence should pave the way for Henderson to handle a larger share of the backfield work after the latter had typically operated as a change-of-pace option while handling snap shares between 50 and 60 percent in each of the past three weeks. In addition to remaining the Rams' top pass-catching option out of the backfield, Henderson should take on more of Akers' vacated early-down work, though veteran Malcolm Brown could also take on a portion of those duties. Regardless, Henderson's expected increase in usage looks like it could be enough to make him a viable starting running back or flex option in the majority of fantasy leagues during Week 6.

Four receptions in loss
Henderson caught four of five targets for 30 yards in Sunday's 22-10 loss to the Cowboys.
Impact
Despite being on the field for nearly double the amount of snaps as Cam Akers on Sunday, Henderson only logged a single rushing attempt on the day, and that was negated by an offensive holding penalty on Ben Skowronek. The Rams used Henderson as a receiving back for the majority of his time on the field, and while the results weren't inspiring, Akers struggled as well, turning his 13 rushing attempts into a paltry 33 yards. Week 6 brings relief in the form of a Panthers team that just gave up 199 yards from scrimmage and three TDs to 49ers running backs Jeff Wilson and Tevin Coleman.

Out-touches Akers 10-8 on MNF
Henderson rushed seven times for 27 yards and caught three of four targets for 12 yards in Monday's 24-9 loss to San Francisco.
Impact
Cam Akers got the start but mustered just 13 scrimmage yards on eight carries and one target. Henderson appears to be the team's running back of choice when negative game scripts lead to more passing situations, and that could be the case in Week 5 against a Cowboys team that's riding a three-game winning streak.

Only four touches
Henderson rushed four times for 17 yards and failed to bring in his only target during Sunday's 20-12 victory against the Cardinals.
Impact
Henderson's role in what looked to be a timeshare with Cam Akers diminished even further against Arizona, as while both players were on the field for 24 of the Rams' 48 offensive snaps, Akers received triple the amount of rushing touches and turned them into 61 yards and a touchdown. The lack of receptions from Henderson in the past two weeks is a troubling trend, as after a five-catch game in Week 1, he hasn't hauled in a pass since. Akers did cough up the ball in a key spot in the fourth quarter, however, so Henderson may be in line for more opportunities as the Rams head to San Francisco for Week 4.
