Limited Thursday Trader (shin) was limited during Thursday's practice.

Impact Trader was originally on the injury report due to a knee issue, which he sustained during the Week 4 loss to Minnesota. However, it appears he is now dealing with a shin injury. The 23-year-old is considered day-to-day, meaning he could be on the field in Week 5 versus the Bengals.

Questionable to return Sunday Trader (knee) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against Minnesota.

Impact The 23-year-old has had a quality 2026 campaign, so his absence wouldn't be ideal for the Dolphins defense. While Trader is off the field, it could mean more snaps for rookie Michael Taaffe.

Makes 55 stops as a rookie Trader racked up 55 tackles (29 solo) across 17 regular-season games with the Dolphins in 2025. He also tallied one pass defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Impact Trader exceeded expectations for a rookie fifth-round pick, stepping into a consistent role at safety in Miami's lackluster secondary. The Maryland product has established himself as a fair rotational option going forward, and he could grow into a more notable role under new head coach Jeff Hafley, but it won't be surprising if the Dolphins make numerous additions at safety this offseason. He remains off the radar in most fantasy IDP formats.

Trader has taken on a larger role in the Dolphins' secondary the last two games, which has coincided with Ashtyn Davis' absence due to a quadriceps injury. Trader got the start against Buffalo, and he would likely start against the Commanders this Sunday if Davis is not cleared to play.

With all the injuries in the Miami secondary, Trader was forced into heavier action against Baltimore. The fifth-round rookie has produced 29 tackles (17 solo), one pass breakup, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery across 199 defensive snaps and 149 special-teams snaps through nine games.
