The steadfast 6: Mahomes, Kelce and 4 others have carried the Chiefs to 7 straight AFC title games

Six players on the Kansas City Chiefs’ active roster are still around from January 2019, when they lost to the Patriots in overtime in the AFC championship game

Goes on practice squad IR The Cardinals placed Williams (foot) on the practice squad injured list Tuesday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.
Impact Williams had three touches for nine yards in Sunday's 31-24 loss to the Ravens before exiting the game in the second quarter after sustaining a foot injury. He will have to sit out for the next four games and will be eligible to return against the Rams on Nov. 26.

Heads back to practice squad Williams (foot) reverted to the Cardinals' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction report.
Impact Williams made an early exit from Sunday's loss to the Ravens late in the second quarter and was unable to return, finishing Week 8 with two carries for five yards and one catch (on one target) for four yards. Arizona has elevated him three times from the practice squad, so the team must sign him to the active roster in order for him to be a part of its backfield. Having said that, Williams' health might prevent that from happening in the short term.

Injures foot Sunday Williams sustained a foot injury during Sunday's game against the Ravens, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact With James Conner (knee) on injured reserve, Arizona has elevated Williams for three consecutive contests, but his touch count has wavered from nine Week 6 to one last Sunday and now three this week. Prior to Williams' departure, those looks translated to nine yards from scrimmage. Emari Demercado will remain the team's lead runner moving forward, with Keaontay Ingram in reserve.
OCTOBER 29, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Elevated for third straight week The Cardinals elevated Williams to the active roster Saturday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Williams joined the Cardinals' practice squad Oct. 5 after being let go by the Raiders during training camp. He's been promoted and played in each of the last two games as a depth running back behind Keaontay Ingram and Emari Demercado, with James Conner (knee) on injured reserve since Oct. 10. Since this is the third time Williams has been elevated this season, the Cardinals would need to sign him to their active roster if they want to continue to play him for the rest of 2023.
OCTOBER 28, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Back to practice squad Williams reverted to the Cardinals' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Impact The 31-year-old continues his roster dance, getting activated on game days before heading back to the taxi squad the following day. In Sunday's 20-10 loss to the Seahawks, Williams rushed one time for two yards on 12 offensive snaps as Arizona's distant RB2 behind Emari Demercado.
OCTOBER 23, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Back on active roster Williams was elevated to the team's active roster Saturday.
Impact This comes as zero surprise after the veteran produced 44 scrimmage yards on 13 offensive snaps in last week's loss. Expect Keaontay Ingram to still see the majority of the rushing opportunities over Williams, with Emari Demercado operating as the team's main option in passing situations.
OCTOBER 21, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Heads back to practice squad Williams reverted to the Cardinals' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Impact In the wake of an IR stint for James Conner (knee), Arizona's backfield was in some flux, but Williams was elevated from the practice squad ahead of Sunday's game at the Rams to provide some veteran experience. While Keaontay Ingram got the start and the most touches (12) and undrafted rookie Emari Demercado had the largest snap share (43 percent), Williams received touches on the majority of his plays (eight of 13). Overall, Ingram racked up 51 yards from scrimmage, Williams had 44, and Demercado brought up the rear with 17. Conner must miss at least three more games, so Williams is a decent bet to continue getting game-day elevations for the next two contests.

Falcons place RB Damien Williams on IR with injured rib

The Atlanta Falcons have placed running back Damien Williams on injured reserve with a rib injury
SEPTEMBER 17, 2022 • Associated Press
Moves to IR Williams (ribs) was placed on injured reserve Saturday.
Impact The veteran tailback didn't practice all week, but considering Williams managed to return to the Week 1 contest after suffering the ribs injury, it's a bit surprising to see him shift to injured reserve. As a result, the 30-year-old will be out a minimum of four weeks.
SEPTEMBER 17, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Won't play this week Williams (ribs) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Rams, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports.
Impact Williams rejoined the Falcons' Week 1 contest after injuring his ribs early on, but he's missed practice ever since and now will sit out for at least one game. Avery Williams replaced him as the complement to Cordarrelle Patterson in the season opener, and while Williams could be modestly involved again, the Falcons likely will find work for rookie fifth-round pick Tyler Allgeier, who was a healthy scratch Week 1.
SEPTEMBER 16, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Not seen at practice Friday Williams (ribs) wasn't present at the media portion of Friday's practice, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Williams missed a good portion of the Falcons' Week 1 loss to the Saints due to a rib injury, which he deemed sore Monday, per Rothstein. The veteran running back didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday and appears to have sat out again Friday, which doesn't bode well for his Week 2 status. If Williams is sidelined, rookie Tyler Allgeier, who was a healthy scratch for Week 1, and Avery Williams would be the primary beneficiaries behind starter Cordarrelle Patterson.

Falcons' Damien Williams misses practice with sore rib

Atlanta Falcons running back Damien Williams was held out of practice for the second consecutive day with a rib injury
SEPTEMBER 15, 2022 • Associated Press
Another DNP on Thursday Williams (ribs) didn't practice Thursday, Ashton Edmunds of the Falcons' official site reports.
Impact Williams missed a good portion of the Falcons' Week 1 loss to the Saints due to a rib injury, which he called sore Monday, according to Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com. So far, Williams hasn't stepped on the practice field during Week 2 prep, but he has one more chance to do so Friday. If he's limited or out Sunday at the Rams, Williams will yield complementary backfield reps to Avery Williams and Tyler Allgeier behind starter Cordarrelle Patterson.

Doesn't practice Wednesday Williams (ribs) was held out of practice Wednesday, Scott Bair of the Falcons' official site reports.
Impact Williams left Sunday's opener against the Saints for a spell due to a rib injury, but he was able to return and play out the rest of the game. He relayed to Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com on Monday that he's tending to sore ribs, which kept him out of the Falcons' first Week 2 practice. Williams has two more opportunities to get on the field this week, so his status will be watched as the week goes on to get a sense of his availability for Sunday's road game versus the Rams.
