Surprise leading rusher Reynolds carried the ball 11 times for 83 yards and caught both his targets for 16 yards in Sunday's 38-10 loss to the Broncos.

Impact Godwin Igwebuike and Jermar Jefferson were expected to lead the Detroit backfield in the absence of D'Andre Swift (shoulder) and Jamaal Williams (COVID-19), but instead it was Reynolds who emerged as the most effective rusher for the team just one day after being promoted from the practice squad. He came into Sunday with only two career touches in the NFL, both coming at the end of last season for the Jaguars, but the 25-year-old may have earned a permanent spot on the Lions' roster for the rest of 2021 with this performance. Whether he has any further fantasy value will depend on how quickly Swift and Williams are back in the lineup, however.

Impact Reynolds and recent practice squad signee Rodney Smith will provide depth with starting running backs D'Andre Swift (shoulder) and Jamaal Williams (COVID-19 protocols) both out for Sunday's game against the Broncos. Detroit is very thin at running back and will likely lean on Godwin Igwebuike and Jermar Jefferson, who combined for seven carries last week against Minnesota.

Impact After rushing for 87 yards with two scores in the first two exhibition games, Reynolds had a quiet finish to the preseason as Jermar Jefferson and Godwin Igwebuike carried the load for Detroit at running back. Considering Igwebuike was also more productive than Reynolds at kick returner, Reynolds will be a surprise to make the roster, but he may have shown enough to earn a spot on the practice squad.

Impact Reynolds signed a reserve/future contract with the Jags back in January, but he was cut when the new league year began.
