INJURIES

Avoids injury designation Kmet (concussion) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Giants.
Impact Fantasy interest in Kmet himself is perhaps at an all-time low, but his return could have an impact in the form of fewer snaps and routes for rookie Colston Loveland, who put up 118 yards and two TDs at Cincinnati last week. The Bears face another vulnerable defense this Sunday, so Loveland should still have some opportunities even if he cedes some playing time to Kmet.
NOVEMBER 7, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Upgrades to full activity Kmet (concussion) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
Impact Kmet was forced out of this past Sunday's 47-42 win over the Bengals and was later diagnosed with a concussion, but he appears to be making rapid progress through the five-step protocol. After opening Week 10 prep Wednesday as a limited participant, Kmet has taken another step forward by practicing fully Thursday. He'll still need to gain clearance from an independent neurologist in order to suit up this weekend, but he appears to have a real chance at being available for Sunday's game against the Giants. If Kmet plays, however, he may have to settle for a smaller role than he's handled for most of the season; rookie tight end Colston Loveland broke out with a 6-118-2 receiving line on seven targets in the win over the Bengals and may have earned himself a larger share of the playing time as a result.

Limited Wednesday Kmet (concussion) practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday.
Impact Kmet left this past Sunday's game at Cincinnati in the second quarter and eventually was diagnosed with a concussion. Considering he's already able to mix into some drills just three days later signifies that he's progressing well through the protocol for head injuries, but he'll still need to gain clearance from an independent neurologist in order to play Sunday against the Giants. Rookie first-round pick Colston Loveland, who broke out with six catches for 118 yards and two touchdowns Week 9, is poised to have a larger role moving forward no matter when Kmet suits up again.

NOVEMBER 2, 2025 • BLEACHERNATION.COM
Concussion confirmed Kmet won't return to Sunday's contest at Cincinnati due to a concussion, Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Impact Kmet paid a visit to the sideline tent in the second quarter and then went to the locker room before the Bears announced that he was being checked for a concussion. With a head injury confirmed, he'll be out until he gains clearance from an independent neurologist. Rookie second-round pick Colston Loveland is set to lead Chicago's TE group during Kmet's absence.

Being checked for concussion Kmet is under evaluation for a concussion during Sunday's contest at Cincinnati.
Impact Kmet visited the medical tent in the second quarter and then walked to the locker room before the Bears made this announcement. At the time of his departure, he'd hauled in one of two targets for 10 yards and also was 0-for-1 passing. Rookie first-round Colston Loveland is poised for more work for as long as Kmet is sidelined.
NOVEMBER 2, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Cleared to return Kmet (back) was a full practice participant Friday and doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Bengals.
Impact Kmet will return from a one-game absence and likely continue rotating with rookie Colston Loveland, who caught three passes for 38 yards in the loss to Baltimore last week. A favorable matchup with the Bengals should lead to some TE production, but it's hard to say which guy will come out ahead in terms of snaps and routes, never mind targets.
OCTOBER 31, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Limited for second straight day Kmet (back) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
Impact After missing the first game of his career in this past Sunday's loss to the Ravens, Kmet has opened Week 9 prep with a pair of limited sessions. If he can upgrade to full participation Friday, Kmet should be in good position to reclaim his usual duties as the Bears' starting tight end. While Kmet was sidelined this past weekend, rookie first-round pick Colston Loveland played a season-high 81 percent of the snaps on offense and finished with three catches for 38 yards on five targets.

OCTOBER 29, 2025 • Associated Press
Limited in return to practice Kmet (back) was a limited practice participant Wednesday.
Impact This marks Kmet's first on-field work since he sustained a back injury Week 7 against the Saints that resulted in the first absence of his six-year career this past Sunday in Baltimore. Getting back on the practice field Wednesday generally is a sign of progress, but he may need to get back to all activity Thursday and/or Friday to avoid a designation entirely ahead of Sunday's contest at Cincinnati.

OCTOBER 24, 2025 • SPORTINGNEWS.COM
First career absence in Week 8 Kmet (back) won't play Sunday against the Ravens.
Impact Kmet will miss a regular-season game for the first time in his NFL career after starting his career with a 90-game ironman streak. Rookie first-round pick Colston Loveland is expected to see increased usage in Kmet's absence. Head coach Ben Johnson deemed Kmet week-to-week Friday but said Kmet isn't a candidate to go on injured reserve, per Scott Bair of Marquee Sports Network.
OCTOBER 24, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Sits out another practice Kmet (back) was a non-participant in Thursday's practice.
Impact Kmet didn't take any reps for the second day in a row and may be trending toward missing Sunday's game in Baltimore. Before the Bears decide whether Kmet takes a designation into the weekend or gets ruled out for Sunday's contest, the team will wait and see if he's able to log any on-field work Friday. Rookie first-round pick Colston Loveland would be in line for a hefty snap count at tight end if Kmet is unable to play in Baltimore.

OCTOBER 23, 2025 • Associated Press
Misses practice Kmet (back) didn't practice Wednesday.
Impact Rookie TE Colston Loveland played 91 percent of Chicago's snaps after Kmet left Sunday's win over New Orleans in the third quarter. Prior to the injury, Kmet and Loveland had been working in a timeshare, with neither seeing many targets on a big day for the Bears' running game. Loveland may be tasked with a three-down role this Sunday in Baltimore, if Kmet isn't ready to play.
