INJURIES

Solid effort in return to action Watson (knee) secured all four of his targets for 85 yards in Sunday's 35-25 win over the Steelers.
Impact Watson made a successful return from a torn ACL suffered in the final game of the 2024 regular season, finishing second behind TE Tucker Kraft (7-143-2) in receiving for the Packers on Sunday Night Football. The 25-year-old Watson exhibited his usual big-play ability in his first taste of action this season, showing no ill effects from the severe knee injury he suffered in January. Watson immediately reinserted himself as one of QB Jordan Love's top targets, making him an appealing fantasy option against the Panthers next Sunday.

Returning to action Sunday Watson (knee) is active for Sunday's game at Pittsburgh, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.
Impact Watson thus is back in action for the first time since he suffered a torn ACL in his right knee Week 18 of last season. However, considering he wasn't able to log a full practice during his 21-day window in which to mix into drills before the Packers activated him from the reserve/PUP list Saturday, he may operate with a cap on his snaps Sunday. In any case, Watson will be available along with fellow WRs Matthew Golden (hip), Romeo Doubs, Malik Heath and Savion Williams for QB Jordan Love, while Dontayvion Wicks (calf) is inactive.

Slated to return to action Sunday Watson (knee) is listed as questionable for Week 8 but is in line to play Sunday at Pittsburgh, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Impact The Packers entered the weekend with a pair of question marks at wide receiver after Matthew Golden also earned the same tag as Watson following Friday's limited practice due to a hip issue. The Packers officially activated Watson from the reserve/PUP list Saturday after he logged three consecutive weeks of capped sessions, so, even though he's suiting up Sunday, he may operate on a restricted snap count in his first game action since he tore the ACL in his right knee Week 18 of last season. An active Watson and Golden will join Romeo Doubs, Malik Heath and Savion Williams as Green Bay's available options at the position Week 8.

Packers activate WR Christian Watson as he gets ready to make his season debut

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson appears set to make his season debut Sunday after recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament
OCTOBER 25 • Associated Press
Activated from PUP list The Packers activated Watson (knee) from the reserve/PUP list Saturday, but he remains questionable for Sunday's game against the Steelers.
Impact Watson was limited in practice all week and drew the questionable tag for Week 8, but his activation from the PUP list Saturday is a positive sign for the 2022 second-rounder. He is in the final stages of his recovery from a torn right ACL that he sustained in Week 18 of the 2024 season against the Bears, but whether he plays Sunday may not be officially known until the Packers announce their list of inactive players approximately 90 minutes prior to the 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff. Watson's return would bolster Green Bay's wide receiver corps, who will be without Dontayvion Wicks (calf) for Week 8 while rookie first-rounder Matthew Golden (hip) is listed as questionable.

Questionable to make 2025 debut Watson (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday night's game at Pittsburgh, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Watson still hasn't logged a full practice, remaining limited Wednesday through Friday this week. The Packers will need to activate him from injured reserve Saturday in order to have Watson available Sunday night. Should that happen, Watson likely will start off in a part-time role, even if fellow speedster Matthew Golden (questionable - hip) is limited or absent.

Stays limited in practice Watson (knee) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Impact In his third week of on-field work since the Packers designated him for return from the reserve/PUP list, Watson has yet to log more than a limited session as he completes his recovery from the torn ACL that he sustained in his right knee Week 18 of last season. He told Schneidman on Wednesday, "My goal and my plan is to play this week." Assuming the Packers list Watson as anything other than 'Out' on Friday's injury report, the team then will need to activate him from the PUP list on Saturday afternoon for him to have a chance to suit up Sunday at Pittsburgh.

Packers' Christian Watson expects to make his season debut Sunday at Pittsburgh

Remains limited at practice Watson (knee) was limited in practice Wednesday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Impact For a third week in a row, Watson continues to operate with a cap on his practice reps as he puts the finishing touches on his recovery from the torn ACL in his right knee that he suffered Week 18 of last season. The Packers are particularly cautious with returns from serious injuries, but on Wednesday the wide receiver said, "My goal and my plan is to play this week," per Schneidman. The first step in Watson's return will be the Packers listing him as something other than 'Out' on Friday's practice report, after which the team will need to activate him from the reserve/PUP list Saturday afternoon for him to have a chance to be active at Sunday's 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff.
OCTOBER 22 • ROTOWIRE
Won't return for Week 7 Watson (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game at Arizona, Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com reports.
Impact Watson remained limited in practice throughout the week, seemingly avoiding setbacks but not quite getting the green light for full participation. An upgrade to 'full' likely will be the signal that his 2025 debut is coming, be it Week 8 at Pittsburgh or later on in the season.
OCTOBER 17 • ROTOWIRE
Another limited practice Watson (knee) was a limited practice participant Thursday.
Impact Watson has been limited in practice the past two weeks, but the ever elusive full session has yet to occur as he puts the finishing touches on his recovery from the torn ACL that he suffered in his right knee Week 18 of last season. Coach Matt LaFleur said, "We'll see," when asked if Watson is set to return Sunday at Arizona, per Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. If Watson isn't ruled out on Friday's injury report, the Packers will have until Saturday afternoon to activate him from the reserve/PUP list, which would give him a chance to play this weekend.

Another limited session Watson (knee) practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday.
Impact Watson now has strung together four consecutive capped sessions going back to last week since the Packers designated him to return from the reserve/PUP list. He wasn't cleared to suit up this past Sunday against the Bengals, and his status remains up in the air in advance of a Week 7 visit to Arizona. Considering he hasn't logged a full practice yet, Watson may need to do so in order to have a chance to play on game day.

Won't play this week Watson (knee) won't play this Sunday against Cincinnati, even though Packers coach Matt LaFleur said Friday that the wideout has looked good at practice this week, de reports.
Impact Coming back from an ACL tear suffered in Week 18 last season, Watson returned to practice Monday and was then listed as a limited participant Wednesday and Thursday. It sounds like he could play as soon as Week 7 or 8, but it won't happen this Sunday in a game where the Packers are favored by nearly two touchdowns.
