INJURIES

Returns to practice Friday Conley (illness) returned to the practice field Friday, Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Impact Conley's return bodes well for his chances of suiting up Sunday against the Colts, though he'll likely carry a questionable designation into the contest. He had missed practice both Wednesday and Thursday due to a non-COVID illness.
DECEMBER 3, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Remains sidelined Thursday Conley (illness) didn't practice Thursday, NFL reporter Aaron Wilson reports.
Impact There appears to be an illness going around Houston's facility, as Brandin Cooks and David Johnson were also sidelined by non-COVID illnesses. Houston will hope to get at least some of those skill position players back for practice Friday. If neither Cooks nor Danny Amendola (knee) can go Sunday against the Colts but Conley plays, he could see a substantial number of targets due to a lack of alternatives.
DECEMBER 2, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Doesn't practice Wednesday Conley (illness) was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's practice estimate.
Impact The Texans didn't hold a formal practice, but Conley wouldn't have participated had the team done so. The veteran wide receiver has been receiving ample playing time, but it hasn't translated to much production up to this point. Along with Conley, fellow pass-catchers Brandin Cooks (illness) and Danny Amendola (knee) were also non-participants.
DECEMBER 2, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Third in snaps, no targets Conley was not targeted among his 29 snaps in Sunday's 21-14 loss to the Jets.
Impact Conley finished third in playing time among the wide receivers, but it did not translate into targets. Once again, the 36-year-old Danny Amendola (five targets, three catches) was a big target factor for the Texans, which owns the 31st-ranked passing offense with 186.5 yards per game and 26th in attempts. At 29-years-old, the Texans do not envision him as part of the future. Conley has 14 catches on 22 targets for 233 yards and one touchdown over 11 games.

Leads wideouts in win Conley caught four of five targets for 37 yards in Sunday's 22-13 win over Tennessee.
Impact Conley led the wide receiver group in targets, catches and yards, as the Titans focused on stopping Brandin Cooks (two catches, three targets). Since the start of the season, he's fallen among the group while Cooks and rookie Nico Collins have become the primary targets. Sunday's production leaves him with 14 catches (22 targets) and one touchdown through 10 games.

Texans WR Chris Conley expects Tyrod Taylor to bounce back against the Titans Houston Texans receiver Chris Conley believes that quarterback Tyrod Taylor will have a better game against the Tennessee Titans in Week 11.

Advances to full practice work Conley (calf) was a full practice participant Thursday.
Impact After being limited by the calf injury at Wednesday's practice, Conley was fully involved during Thursday's session, clearing the way for him to play this weekend against the Dolphins. The Texans are expected to get top quarterback Tyrod Taylor (hamstring) back from injured reserve this weekend to step back into the starting role in place of rookie Davis Mills, but the change under center likely won't dramatically improve Conley's outlook. Conley hasn't drawn more than four targets in any of his seven appearances this season.

Dolphins, Texans both bringing 7-game slides into Sunday

A pair of teams on seven-game losing streaks will meet Sunday in South Florida when the Miami Dolphins take on the Houston Texans
NOVEMBER 4, 2021 • Associated Press
Limited in practice Conley (calf) was limited in practice Wednesday.
Impact Conley was previously dealing with a neck injury, and it's unknown when he picked up the calf injury. Getting in a limited practice this early in the week is a positive sign for his availability Sunday against the Dolphins. Conley has moved down the depth chart as Danny Amendola and Nico Collins have regained health, but still has been getting 40 percent or more of the snaps. If Conley was unable to play Sunday Chris Moore would likely take on a larger role.
NOVEMBER 3, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Active for Sunday's game Conley (neck) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
Impact As is fellow WR Nico Collins (foot), which sets the stage for Collins, Conley and Chris Moore to contend for outside snaps opposite top option Brandin Cooks, while Danny Amendola mans the slot for Houston. With Davis Mills drawing another start at QB versus 6-0 Arizona, Conley, who has compiled a 7/134/1 stat line through six games, profiles as a hit-or-miss fantasy lineup option in Week 7.
OCTOBER 24, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Questionable against Cardinals Conley (neck) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Arizona, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact Conley was limited in all three practices this week. He and rookie third-round pick Nico Collins (foot) are expected to split reps on the outside opposite No. 1 receiver Brandin Cooks, though both Conley and Collins carry questionable tags into the Week 7 contest.
OCTOBER 22, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Remains limited in practice Conley (neck) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
Impact For the second straight day, Conley's reps were capped in practice on account of the injury. He'll likely need to upgrade to full participation in Friday's session in order to avoid taking a questionable designation into Sunday's game in Arizona.
OCTOBER 21, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Limited Wednesday Conley (neck) was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice.
Impact Conley suffered the neck injury during Sunday's loss to the Colts, though he was able to return to the contest. It doesn't appear to be a serious concern given he was able to participate in the first practice of the week.
OCTOBER 20, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Returns from injury Sunday Conley suffered a neck injury during Sunday's loss to the Colts but returned to the game, Mark Lane of USA Today reports.
Impact The neck injury would explain Conley's season-low 31 snaps (42 percent), but it should be noted that Nico Collins returned to the lineup Week 6. That, and the sudden emergence of Chris Moore means Conley will be squeezed for playing time going forward.
OCTOBER 19, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Another quiet game Conley caught one of two targets for 10 yards in Sunday's 31-3 loss to Indianapolis.
Impact Conley had a nice game Week 5 against the Patriots, but that is the outlier in a quiet season overall for the seven-year veteran. In the five other games, the 28-year-old wideout has eight targets, four catches and 50 yards. With Nico Collins returning from the injured list, Conley had a season-low 43-percent share of snaps and dropped on the depth chart.

Texans fall apart in 2nd half of 25-22 loss to New England

The Houston Texans played well early Sunday to take a lead over the New England Patriots
OCTOBER 10, 2021 • Associated Press
Serves as big-play threat Conley recorded three receptions on four targets for 84 yards and a touchdown in Week 5 against the Patriots.
Impact Conley benefitted from the absence of Danny Amendola (thigh) and delivered season-best marks across the box score. The majority of that production came on deep receptions, as Conley delivered gains of 40 and 37 yards -- the latter of which went for a touchdown. Given both his previous lack of involvement and the generally poor state of the Texans' offense, Conley will likely find it difficult to replicate this performance moving forward.

OCTOBER 10, 2021 • NFL.COM
Back at practice Friday Conley (personal) returned to practice Friday, NFL reporter Aaron Wilson reports.
Impact Conley missed practice Wednesday and Thursday for reasons unrelated to an injury, but he was back at the Texans' facility Friday. His return paves the way for Conley to play his usual role Sunday against the Patriots as a starting wide receiver who plays plenty of snaps but sees few targets.
OCTOBER 8, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Doesn't practice Thursday Conley didn't practice Thursday for a reason unrelated to an injury, Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Impact The nature of Conley's absence isn't yet clear, but he didn't participate in practice for a second straight day. Whether he's able to suit up Sunday against New England remains to be seen.
OCTOBER 7, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
No catches again Conley did not catch his lone target in Sunday's 40-0 loss to Buffalo.
Impact It was the second straight week with one target and without a catch for Conley, who played 88 percent of the offensive snaps those two games. He and the rest of the targets suffered from poor quarterback play Sunday, as rookie QB Davis Mills threw four picks and had a 23.4 rating.
OCTOBER 4, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
No catches in loss Conley failed to bring in his only target in the Texans' 24-9 loss to the Panthers on Thursday night.
Impact The veteran disappointingly failed to get on the stat sheet despite the Texans playing short-handed at the receiver position with Danny Amendola (thigh) inactive. Through three games with his new squad, Conley has brought in three of five targets for 40 yards on the heels of back-to-back 40-reception seasons in Jacksonville over the last two campaigns. Given his past body of work, Conley's role should grow at least somewhat in coming games, and he'll look to make a bigger contribution in a Week 4 road clash with the Bills a week from Sunday.
