Impact Washington hasn't revealed whether Toohill tested positive for the virus or was deemed a close contact of an infected person, but in any case, he'll be the fifth member of the Football Team this week to be ruled out after being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Toohill's absence will further deplete Washington's depth at defensive end, as the Football Team will be without its top four options at the position. In addition to Toohill, James Smith-Williams and Montez Sweat (jaw, positive test) are on the reserve/COVID-19 list, while Chase Young (knee) is on season-ending injured reserve.

Impact Toohill was drafted by the Eagles in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft, but he was subsequently waived after only appearing in one contest. The Stanford product was claimed off waivers by Washington and appeared in eight games in a reserve role. Toohill is questionable for Washington's second preseason game on Aug. 20.
