INJURIES

Starts, but no catches Sims got the start and played 62 percent of offensive snaps in Sunday's 56-14 loss to Dallas, but he was unable to catch a pass on three targets.
Impact Sims caught three of four targets for 69 yards and a TD two weeks earlier in the first game against Dallas. He's since seen considerable playing time in back-to-back games, but with just one catch (for 13 yards) to show for it, he may slide back to a timeshare with the likes of Dyami Brown, DeAndre Carter and Dax Milne. There's still minimal fantasy potential for Washington pass catchers behind Terry McLaurin.

Back from COVID-19 list Washington reinstated Sims (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Sunday.
Impact The NFL's decision to push back Washington's Week 15 game against the Eagles from Sunday to Tuesday provided enough time for Sims -- and likely more players to follow -- to clear all COVID-19-related protocols and help alleviate some depth concerns for the Football Team, which still has 13 members of the roster on the list and several more on injured reserve. The receiver room is one of the few position groups on the roster that hasn't been hit hard by COVID-19-related absences or injury, so Sims likely won't be in store for a sizable role Week 15. Sims saw extra work Week 14 against Dallas after top wideout Terry McLaurin exited early with a concussion, but McLaurin practiced fully Sunday for the second day in a row and appears on track to clear the NFL's five-step protocol for head injuries before Tuesday's game.

Tests positive for virus Sims' placement on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday was the result of a positive test of the virus, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Impact Washington didn't officially provide an explanation beyond Sims' placement on the list, but Yates notes that 30 of the 31 of NFL players that landed on the list Wednesday tested positive for the virus, with Jordan Ranaan of ESPN.com relaying that Giants safety Xavier McKinney was placed on the list as an unvaccinated high-risk close contact. Because Sims is vaccinated, he'll be eligible to report back to the Football Team facility so long as he's asymptomatic for a 48-hour period and tests negative for the virus on two consecutive occasions at least 24 hours apart. He'll still face an uphill battle to gain clearance for Sunday's game against the Eagles, and at the very least, he won't be able to take part in any of the Football Team's practices this week.

Lands on COVID list Washington placed Sims on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday.
Impact Sims helped fill in for an injured Terry McLaurin (concussion) and finished with 3-69-1 receiving line on four targets in Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Cowboys. With both wideouts now in danger of missing this weekend's game in Philadelphia, there may be an opportunity for Curtis Samuel, DeAndre Carter or Dyami Brown to take on more snaps.

Leads team in receiving Sims caught three of four targets for 69 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Cowboys.
Impact Terry McLaurin (concussion) only played 33 offensive snaps, which opened the door for Sims to notch season-highs in both receptions and yards. The majority of the 6-foot-5 wideout's production came on a spectacular, 43-yard touchdown grab in the third quarter. Despite Sims' big play, Adam Humphries appeared to be the more consistent go-to guy with McLaurin out, as he led the team in both targets (seven) and receptions (four). If McLaurin is sidelined in Week 15, Sims, Humphries and DeAndre Carter are all candidates for increased snaps against the Eagles on Sunday.

Hits pay dirt in win Sims caught both of his targets for 19 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-21 win over the Panthers.
Impact Sims' touchdown was a six-yard grab on a pass from Taylor Heinicke in the second quarter to tie the game early. The score marks the wideout's first trip to the end zone this season. The 25-year-old played on just 11 of Washington's 67 offensive snaps, as he continues to be far down the team's pecking order of pass catchers. Sims' usage leaves much to be desired, and he would likely need to find the end zone on limited snaps to turn in any sort of fantasy relevant performance going forward. Washington will host the Seahawks in Week 12, and Sims will likely not see enough action to be a viable fantasy option.

Limited to 10 yards Sims caught both of his targets for 10 yards in Sunday's 29-19 win over the Buccaneers.
Impact Sims had a big game against Tampa in the playoffs last year but placed just fifth in playing time among Washington's wide receivers in this one. He got 18 percent of the offensive snaps, following 21 percent share in the final game before Washington's Week 9 bye. Sims likely will stay in a reserve role for Week 11 at Carolina, though he does have starting experience and could be promoted back to the lineup eventually if DeAndre Carter struggles or gets hurt. But even then, Dax Milne took more snaps (27 percent) than Sims in Week 10, suggesting he might be next up for Washington's revolving-door WR spot if Carter doesn't last.

Cleared to face Tampa Sims (hamstring) will play in Sunday's game against Tampa Bay, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Impact Sims is cleared to play while Curtis Samuel (groin) is ruled out and Dyami Brown (knee) listed as questionable, but even if the depth chart is thinned out, Sims may not be ahead of DeAndre Carter at this point. Carter had his best game of the season right before the Week 9 bye, catching three of six targets for 51 yards and a touchdown in the 17-10 loss to Denver. Sims saw two targets and only 15 snaps in the same game, though it was his first week back in the lineup after missing three in a row with the hamstring injury. In any case, playing time hasn't necessarily led to targets in the past, so even a starting assignment won't come with much fantasy appeal if Sims gets it.
NOVEMBER 12, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Limited Thursday Sims (hamstring) was a limited practice participant Thursday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Impact Sims has had his practice reps capped for two consecutive days to begin the week. However, if the 25-year-old is able to remain on the practice field in some capacity Friday, he should have a good chance to suit up Sunday against the Buccaneers.
NOVEMBER 11, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Still dealing with hamstring Sims (hamstring) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Impact Sims missed Weeks 5-7 with the hamstring injury, returning Week 8 to catch one of two targets for 20 yards while playing 15 snaps (21 percent). He's apparently still bothered by his hamstring after a Week 9 bye, but he'll likely be able to play Sunday against the Bucs.
NOVEMBER 10, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Returning to action Week 8 Sims (hamstring) is listed as active Sunday at Denver.
Impact On the heels of three consecutive games missed, Sims got back on the practice field in a limited capacity during Week 8 prep. It was enough activity for Washington to clear him to play for the first time since Week 4, and he could have more opportunity than he previously had with both Curtis Samuel (groin) and Dyami Brown (knee) sidelined. Still, Sims likely will be behind all of Terry McLaurin, Antonio Gibson, J.D. McKissic, Ricky Seals-Jones and Adam Humphries in the pecking order for targets from Taylor Heinicke.
OCTOBER 31, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Questionable for Week 8 return Sims (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Denver, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Sims returned to practice Wednesday after missing the past three games. He saw just three targets on 35 offensive snaps over the first four weeks of the season, but there's a chance Sims joins the starting lineup if he's able to play Sunday, as both Curtis Samuel (groin) and Dyami Brown (knee) are ruled out. Sims previously was a starter for Washington's final 10 regular-season games last year, averaging 2.9 catches for 43.8 yards on 4.5 targets in that stretch.
OCTOBER 29, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Returns to limited practice Sims (hamstring) was a limited practice participant Thursday.
Impact Sims has practiced in limited capacity both Wednesday and Thursday. Those have been his first sessions since exiting the team's Week 4 matchup, so it looks like he could potentially return to the field Sunday against Denver after a three-game absence.
OCTOBER 29, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Will miss third straight game Sims (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Packers, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Impact Sims hasn't practiced since leaving Washington's Week 4 win over the Falcons early with a hamstring injury. Terry McLaurin, Adam Humphries and Dyami Brown will garner the majority of the wideout snaps, but Dax Milne and DeAndre Carter have developed small roles with Sims and Curtis Samuel (groin) sidelined.
OCTOBER 22, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Misses another practice Sims (hamstring) didn't take part in Thursday's practice.
Impact Sims has yet to return to practice in any fashion since exiting Washington's Week 4 win over the Falcons with the hamstring injury. Barring a dramatic step forward in his activity at Friday's practice, Sims looks set to miss a third straight game Sunday in Green Bay.
OCTOBER 21, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Does not practice Wednesday Sims (hamstring) missed Washington's practice Wednesday.
Impact Sims injured his hamstring in Washington's Week 4 win over the Falcons and has yet to play since then. After logging another missed practice Wednesday, the wideout's chances to play Sunday against the Packers are dropping. Expect DeAndre Carter and possibly Dax Milne to see snaps Sunday if Sims can't suit up.
