Questionable for Week 7
Sterns (illness) is listed as questionable for the Broncos' Thursday night game against the Browns, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Impact
Sterns started off the practice week healthy but then missed practice Tuesday and was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. If he's available to play Thursday, the rookie will hope to log defensive snaps against a depleted Cleveland offense. Expect Jamar Johnson or PJ Locke to take over Sterns' depth role Thursday if he can't suit up.

Misses practice
Sterns (hip) was held out of practice Monday, Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
Sterns sat out due to hip soreness after playing 54 snaps in Saturday's win over the Vikings, the second most of any Broncos defender. The rookie safety has had a strong training camp thus far, and his performance Saturday continued to impress, as he registered a team-high six tackles and had a touchdown-saving pass breakup in the end zone. Sterns is currently battling to take hold of the No. 3 safety spot behind veterans Kareem Jackson and Justin Simmons, and he is certainly making a convincing case with his play on the field. If the 21-year-old can bounce back quickly from his hip issue, he will have another opportunity to build upon his recent success when the Broncos visit the Seahawks in Week 2 of the preseason.

Impressive in camp
Sterns has impressed teammates and coaches alike by almost always being in the right place, Nick Kosmider of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Sterns' consistency and playmaking ability are catching the attention of the Broncos organization early in camp. When asked about the safety's progress thus far, Coach Vic Fangio said, "He's done a good job of picking up our defense, learning it and being able to graduate from level one to level two and level three." This is high praise for the 21-year-old University of Texas product as he competes for the No. 3 safety spot behind veterans Kareem Jackson and Justin Simmons. Sterns will look to translate his quick learning into on-field success when the rookie gets his first taste of live-game action against the Vikings on Saturday.
