Impact Cook (6-foot-1, 206 pounds) was a standout safety at Cincinnati after transferring from Howard, and with the Chiefs he could earn substantial immediate playing time in the wake of the departures of Tyrann Mathieu and Daniel Sorensen. Cook would likely operate more underneath while Juan Thornhill takes on more deep coverage tasks.
